Hey folks. I realize this may be strange, asking for advice on where to find a good forum while I'm on a good forum... but I'm looking for the HCRealms equivalent for comics.

I'm a super casual novice collector, and I'm looking to step my game up to still super casual but taking my collection a little more serious... collector. I'd like a forum to bounce my collecting ideas off other folks involved in the hobby, read informative posts to up my knowledge, and things like that.

I've found two and neither feel right for me. CGC forums felt way too upscale, like everyone there is a high end comic book dealer/collector and I just felt way out of my element. CBR looked like a decent fit, except there's no plays for newbies and every post has like... 60 pages of responses, like making a new post would be a no no.

Some of you out there must collect comics! And have a cool forum to talk about your hobby, just like HCRealms! Care to share?

Honestly, right here is a good start. I'd maybe close this thread and start a new one with your specific questions. This place is chock full of pretty much every level of collector/fan, up to and including store owners and con runners. You've got a solid range of experiences (and investment levels) to choose from. I, for one, would argue that you're not truly a collector until you've lost a prized book to some kind of misfortune (fire, theft, flood). I will always mourn you, autographed NM copy of NYX #3.
