So, one of my players brought a grand total of 4 TMT002 Loki. Three were on his starting force, and one was on his sideline.
He got his Shape Change once, so he generated per his special:
MY, MY...YOU JUST KEEP FALLING FOR THIS, DON'T YOU: Shape Change. When Loki uses it and succeeds, after resolutions you may generate within range and line of fire a TMT #002 Loki on the click #1 that appears after the (orange) KO. They have a 0 point value for all effects (including scoring).
So far, so good: he has 4 physical copies of the piece.
But then, he kept making his Shape Change roll (before we bopped the "real" Loki to click 3), and he attempted to proxy in new pieces (using extra dice on their one pip, to indicate Click 1). I told him it wasn't allowed, and he said, "Show me where it says that in the rulebook."
The best I could find was this thread, http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=581175, that says in Sealed play, you have to have them. His counter was, "Sure, in sealed play, that makes sense!" and "I have more, I just didn't bring them."
The rest of my players were of no use so I just let it slide for the evening, and told him I'd come back with a ruling.
Thanks for the read - and any insight!
Julius
PS On the other hand, it made those new Lokis really easy to distinguish from the REAL one...
1. Start with you're not allowed to proxy characters. Those Lokis aren't bystanders with a single click. They are characters with a dial top and clicks. Putting a die on the map to represent them is not nearly the same thing as doing it to represent, say, Old Lace.
Otherwise, why not show up with a team of nothing but d6?
2. Then move on to, you're the Judge. If you say no, it means no.
If he still has a problem with it, remind him (as nicely as you see fit) that he can find somewhere else to play.
I could have sworn there was something else that indicated you needed to have an area where all your "off the Map" copies were displayed (ie, the extra Loki) but I can't find it at the moment.

All good points. Since they are from "outside the game" there isn't a specific area they are kept. One thing to add: you can remove them from your "KO area" (noting the pieces previous KO) and play them again.
