Is there anyway to make a competitive GCU theme team? I'm not looking for anything to win a worlds but a team that actually stands a chance within a 300 pt. Modern format. This is the best I could come up with basing it around the SR Joker from Joker's Wild:
Very powerful Joker. He can lock down opposing figures by giving 2 action tokens when he hits and the BCF makes his damage output potentially high. Mastermind is an awesome defense and I have just the thing for it.
A nice Perplex source. Flips into a pretty good attacker and he has defend to bump up Joker's defense. Self healing is pretty nice too.
This Riddler is absolutely godly. He has basically a double outwit, one of which bypasses PC/Q. Just a ridiculously good figure.
The mastermind combo. Transfer that damage to the penguins. Having the perplex from Two-Face to make the Robo-Penguin have 12 pen on a range attack is awesome as well.
Leaves 5 points for an ID of your choice.
Now as far as changes, I think Penguin is only good because of Mastermind with Joker. Two-Face is there for his perplex but the JW002 Harley is 25 pts of peplex so she is a potential replacement for him. As fare as Joker's weaknesses, lack of move and attack cripples him. I think playing the Sinestro from EW at 80 pts is great for his TK and keeping theme.
Replacing those gives you another 295 pt team that looks like this:
Which of these 2 seem best to you guys and if you cant think of a theme team other than these (i really dont see any options besides these 2), then throw down a team that uses JW059 The Joker as a key piece! Thanks guys!

Victor slows down anything he hits, and so long as he's kept out of a melee, can do some major recovery work even if he's thumped down the dial. Harley nets you rather cheap perplex... the thugs give you plenty of fodder for the sake of tie-ups. Other option is... consider Lex and Joker @ 75... PC is never a bad thing

That sinestro is also pretty good at the 140 starting line. I was messing around with teams that involved tagging him in if I needed move and attack. There's also a decent handful of GCU figs in the harley set. KITEMAN!! 15 points, carry 2 with flight... I own 2. The GCPD from the harley FF is also interesting. Not to mention both sr title chracters in joker and harley(who has crazy support now).
Joker thugs are pretty much an auto add in joker teams. for 10 points you get a meat shield. the lex joker duo comes with prob at 75pts, 11 atk, BE TA, and gives your team the underworld TA. really good support/secondary attacker.
There are some pretty good options out now. Depends on what you like.

I think this is a really solid idea. That harley can perplex and perform as a decent secondary ranged attacker with her title EE. The scarecrow's smoke can help keep joker safe!
That Joker is a great place to start, since he's one of the keyword's best attackers. Joker Thugs are ideal fodder for him thanks to their trait and how much better the Underworld TA is now.
Title Harley is a great support piece, and I'd pair her with FF Penguin specifically. His ability to be attacked by friendlies will satisfy the Title requirement of making attacks, preventing Harley from taking the damage if she isn't able to attack opposing characters. The Penguin's modifiers are also great for Joker. If everything lines up properly, you can give Joker the Loyalty token for +1 Attack and Range. Title Harley can up his Attack +2, and he can Ranged Combat Expert up his damage +2, making him 14 Attack with 7 range and 5 damage, plus the tokens he gives out.
For maximum ridiculous stats, here's a modern 300 point team, with points for the ID card of your choice.:
Don't mean to hijack, but I figured I'd tag in this thread rather than make a new one with similar questions. On the topic of GCU theme. I'm really happy that I got title joker. I just don't have a lot of things in mind to do with him in 300 modern.
Penguin is stupid good with him and title harley quinn. I had an idea to just turtle and spawn joker thugs. Have two face boost everyone's defense to 18 and laugh. It seems pretty wasteful though, since this joker has a lot going for him up close.
He has OW and a modified poison via title ability. Not to skip over charge with 11 top dial attack, and 18 def with cr. Not hard to see that he's meant to get in and do damage up close. His other title ability let's him either move adjacent enemies, give them an action token, or deal penetrating damage. Oh, and he has the BE ta, so additional bonuses from anybody in joker's wild that has plans to deal with the bat(a lot of them have bonuses from close attacks). The close combat machine joker also is good since a lot of teams can hide behind stealth.
He has no attack powers through the entire dial, or damage reducers aside from mastermind. So I thought eclipso would be good, but he's not all that beneficial. Symbiote is something that really interests me. Gives joker plasticity and possibly +1 stats. Kite man can fly him in to set up attacks, and thugs to keep him alive. He lacks willpower and indom, so it's not necessarily his place to be a main attacker.
Is there a close quarter build within GCU that will synergize well? Or would he be better suited as a damaging tie up piece that would benefit a long ranged strategy more?
First Three Turns Harley Plexes up her defense by 2, and Big Tony Plexes up her defense by 1. She uses a free action to attack The Penguin to make sure that she doesn't take the 1 Unavoidable (or let her take it once to take a 1 increase to her defense). 3 Turns in, roll for your gang of Harley's and have Kite Man carry in two of them and (hopefully) Sinestro brings in one more to flurry it up. If people start to get too close, counter them with call ins from Sinestro and the Teleporter (some favorites would include Balls of Fury, Chase Hawkeye, Chase Green Arrow, Cosmic Spider-Man, OP Nightwing, OP Firestorm).
You should be able to do enough damage with the Harley's to put you in front, and the plexes and Sinestro's Pulse Wave should keep you ahead if you play defensively. If you roll low, you'll have to rely on the call-ins as you build up to 6 plot points again, but it's still doable.
