Now see this is the Flash in my book. The speed, the power to hurt even invulnerable foes, some outwit and the flurry special poer make for a fun and exciting dial to play.
Hey guys, i just got this flash today in my booster pack. But im reading that this is one of, if not the best flash out there, but i dont see why. Sure he has flurry but if im reading his card and dial right, he doesnt have hypersonic and flurry at the same time, which to me would make him the best...
i have a white lantern flash that can use hypersonic and use ranged attacks while at the same time can regen at certain points. I feel that that flash is better.
But please i am still learning this game and would love to know why this SR Barry allen is suppose to be the best.
Because he has unlimited movement, you simply place him anywhere on the map to attack any character. Literally no one can hide from this flash. It doesn't matter how many squares away they are, place him there and attack, then place him anywhere else and attack. He is the ultimate move piece. He can't run up, flurry, and run away, but he can get 2 attacks on any character on the map, no matter where he is on said map. The best flash hands down.
I still think he's overrated, yes he can attack anyone on the map but with a 9 attack and 2 damage so go ahead and pop up in front of my character with invulnerability or impervious. Armor piercing helps but he's still not working for me
119 points buys you 4 clicks of hypersonic, 4 clix of move to any figure on map and attack, 3 clix of 3 damage, 2 clix of outwit, 2 clix of exploit weakness. What do you people want. This figure can run circles around Nightcrawler, which there seems to be a general consensus is one of the best figures in the game. Throw in some pretty good numbers, 11 attack that doesn't go below a 9 and 18 defense and this is really a pretty darn good flash, and a pretty darn good figure.

You also can't use flurry with hypseronic speed. Hypersonic speed grants a close combat attack and flurry is a close combat action.
Depending on how you look at it, his special is much better than hypersonic speed because your speed is irrelevant. The only difference is that you have to be next to end your turn (unless you KO them). However he does have combat reflexes on his first click of it, so they need to hit a 19, and hopefully they're wounded after you hit them. Plus you can try and time it and only attack when they are pushed. He's a finesse piece, but he gives you fantastic options depending on the rest of your team. No one can ever outrun you.
I haven't even played him yet, but am going to tonight. I hope he works in practice like he does on paper.
Scientist keyword sealed it for me. Best Flash ever. Zoom still has the advantage of hypersonic with flurry, but Barry can get his damage bumped up to 6 and sock it to whoever he wants. That Around the World SP means no one escapes the Scarlet Speedster. My new favorite Flash!
I've got White lantern Flash, and him. I have more fun playing him. One time I lost my whole team and only had him in a 300 point game. He won it for me in a flash.
WANT!!!! I love playing Flash teams, but the new Barry Allens from The Flash set had a lot to be desired, but this guy delivers at a low point value. This guy with White Lantern Flash, New Wally West Flash, Dark Flash, and Wally West (from Crisis) = fun Central City theme team of awesomeness. (And still have room for an ATA)
Win/Loss: 1-1 This Barry improves over the 140 point Blackest Night version. Similar starting click, but only a drop of attack and defense when pushing (Good design = no drop, FYI). Saving 21 points, this Barry plays more like a traditional Flash, running out, harassing and smacking his targets and then getting out of Dodge. Clicks 3 & 4 give you the option to base a target (preferably one relying on range and a damage reducer) to maximize the EW / CR combo. Taking more damage, Barry destroys any wounded characters trying to retreat, anyone hiding in their starting area, helping someone in desperate need, and soft targets - and this is where this Barry becomes uniquely neat and fun. Ending outwit still provides help for the team as he peter's out. Overall, a neat Barry and still viable in 2018, if one can forgive the cost.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
