So I'm trying to see if I'm playing correctly with the new rules.
When a character does an action they usually get a token. 2 tokens results in a push (unless willpower is involved). I know incapacitate puts a token on characters which can "push" a character, but what of situations that don't say incapacitate?
Example:
TRY NOT TO SHATTER MY FROZEN FRIENDS, BOYS: When Mr. Freeze hits with a range attack, give each hit character an action token, and after actions resolve, attach the Ice Wall marker to one hit character, unless it is attached to another character.
Does the action token make a character "push" if they had an action token before hit by Freeze?
I only ask because some characters have this "put an action token that doesn't cause pushing damage clause" and with the new rules I'm wondering if at any time you get another action token does that automatically push the character without said clause.
The "action token that doesn't cause pushing damage" is only on powers that say it, getting a second action token any other way will cause pushing damage.
PUSHING
When a character receives a second action token for any reason (often because it has been given an action on two consecutive turns), it becomes “pushed.” When a character becomes pushed, immediately after resolutions it is dealt one pushing damage. (See p. 16 for Pushing Damage.)

Just pointing out that this has nothing to do with the new rules. Ever since the beginning of the game gaining a second token for any reason (which specifically does not say otherwise) has caused pushing damage.

Actually, there was a period where it didn't. When the Abominable Snowman came out, his effect wouldn't cause Pushing damage, because it was only checked for when an action was resolving.

PUSHING When a character receives a second action token (usually because it has taken an action on two consecutive turns), deal one pushing damage to that character as actions resolve.
It was pretty quickly changed so that Pushing would happen whenever a second token was given and anything resolved, same as we have now.
Another question with the new rules.
What if a character already has 2 action tokens and an effect (not Incapacitate) gives them another token, do they take damage?

Unless instructed nothing happens. You can't give a figure more than two action tokens. So unless there is something that says the character takes damage if it already has two action tokens, nothing happens.
