COSMIC ENTITY: Infinity can't be the target of an attack with more than one target.
PULSE WAVE RANGE: Halve range, [Improved Targeting]. Other characters within range can’t use powers or abilities (for this action). Make a range attack targeting all characters, at least one of which must be opposing, within range and line of fire using their printed defense values. If more than one character is targeted, each hit character is dealt 1 damage instead of normal damage.
Scenario:
My opponent (Chase Photon) used Pulse Wave. Within her range was my Colossal Infinity and my SR Quasar. Infinity as the Cosmic Entity Trait, which states she can't be the target of an attack with more than one target.
Question:
Infinity can't be the target of an attack with more than one target. In this scenario, there were two targets (Infinity and Quasar). Does the Cosmic Entity Trait turn the "multiple-target" Pulse Wave into a "single-target" Pulse Wave (on my SR Quasar) because Infinity can't be targeted?
If the Cosmic Entity trait had Protected: Pulsewave then then the trait would work against Pulsewave. But as the previous reply indicated, the trait is ignored in this case.
Throwing out a variant on this that I encountered at a pre-release. What if you target a Cosmic Entity with Energy Explosion while there is an adjacent character. I am fairly certain in the opposite direction, they would both be targeted, as the Cosmic Entity would 'become' a target, but in this direction would the Cosmic Entity remain a target or not? I tend to think they still would be, but wasn't certain. Judge ruled that the 'other' target would still be attacked, but not the Cosmic Entity, which was fine with me as I couldn't damage the CE anyway.
COSMIC ENTITY: [This character] can't be the target of an attack with more than one target.

ENERGY EXPLOSION RANGE: Make a range attack, and all other characters adjacent to an original target also become targets. Hit characters are dealt 2 damage instead of normal damage.

“BECOMES”
Some effects cause a character to become the target, or hit or missed target, of an attack and use the term “becomes.” When this occurs, the affected character(s) automatically become whatever the effect specifies and bypass any effects that would cause the attack or hit or miss to be illegal.
You can target Cosmic Entities with Energy Explosion, but they can't be the original target. If they're the original target, the attack becomes an attack with more than one target, and then Cosmic Entity kicks in and makes it illegal.
