I would like an option after searching to sort the results. Preferably by age.
Searching "Thor" I have to wade past a lot of LotR clix.
Searching generic keywords, I have to scroll past 15 years of Marvel to get to the latest DC.
I would also like the ability to search for Improved Movement and Targeting.
You can adjust post-search in the "Versus" list by ID, Name, TA, cost, range, and rating. Having more options would be nice, though.
I don't collect or build with "other"-verse or DC pieces, so in the advanced search to begin with I select Marvel as my universe. I've gotten so used to doing that it's like a auto-habit that takes .3 seconds now.
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.

Use the Units search section, and click the dropdown box next to "Name" that says "Contains". Change "Contains" to "Is". Then search for Thor, and get only Thor.
There are workarounds, but all of these make it more clunky to search. Simply providing the results in reverse chronological order solves it. Even a tickbox next to teh Quick Search box for sort order would help.
Using the vs box is extremely clunky if you have a lot of results. And is probably harder on the site.

I dunno, that one seemed pretty easy to me. The only easier option I could see would be searching "Thor" in the Quick Search box, but that's not currently an option.
That's just an one example. Typing any generic keyword in the quick search box works, but the result is unwieldy. When Ion was new, you couldn't just type Ion in the quick search box unless you did a lot of scrolling.
I should note that this isn't really an issue on desktop as much as on phone.
For Desktop, my may request for a change would be to make the advance search setting sticky, so that if you select a bunch of stuff, search, look at a unit's details, and then want to search again with a slightly different parameter you don't have to reenter everything.
The thing that's most frustrating about it is that the fix-- a different result order-- is trivial for the system. If I want to make a generic keyword team, I have to either scroll through a lot of old stuff, or use advanced search.
My question is - how satisfied do you currently feel with hcrealms database (Units section)? What you think it's doing good and what it lacks. Maybe everyone just feels that it's fine as it is right now and there is no need for a more modern solution.
The Units section is excellent, and should inspire everyone who uses it to donate to the site.

I can't figure out how to search for "ID" cards. It seems like this would be one of the "Advanced Search -> Rank" options.

Except as they were released in sets and in other manners, they have different rarities. Best I can say is search by ID in the name, as all have a form of it in their name.
I've completed collecting the IC, CT, XP, CM, Ult, MM, FF, AW, Sin, SN, AVE, M&M, SI, HoT, WoS, GSX, CA, IH, GG, AVM, CW, M10th, ASM, IM3, WK11-16, FI, WX, T:DW, CA:WS, IIM, DoFP, DP, GotG, AoUM, AoU, AVAS NFAoS, CACW, UXM, SFoes, DXF, GotG2, ADW, WI, MT T:RM, AI SW:B, EX, ABPI and X:DPAS sets.
Looking to get PR Professor X (W/X-Men) and pre-release "IC" Wolverine.
Units section is great for me mainly to see unit comments from many other users and share comments. The search function is very useful, but as mentioned could be expanded a bit ideally and also can be found elsewhere. Other than that, it has issues that keep me from using it much.
-- Bad for cataloguing collection - No export to csv file feature means your collection will disappear once this site goes under, wasting your input time and tying yourself to a possibly zombie site (see point below). I have mine catalogued elsewhere.
-- Troubling signs - malware was (still is?) infesting the site's main page for weeks or months, submitted unit corrections have been sitting unattended for weeks or months, plenty of anecdotes of no communication from the site's owner when emailed... These are all impediments to donating as well. It is a tough sell to donate to a site that is seemingly putting forth little or no effort. The site seems to be propped up by volunteers who are few in number and whose access is limited, which inspires little confidence in the site's long term future.
--Gaps/omissions/inconsistencies - errata over the years has sometimes been included in the main unit info (with no errata notation), sometimes been noted as errata in a separate box, and sometimes not ever been input or mentioned. From Infinity Challenge until now, there is no consistency. Therefore, units section is pretty useless for errata. Need to hunt down and parse WK threads every time you want to use an unfamiliar figure or keep your own separate errata files. Unit rulings are not located anywhere in a consistent manner despite many users' invaluable efforts (jaysol's rules recaps and the Purples' answering of rules forum questions), so you usually end up parsing WK sites anyway for almost any potentially confusing unit power.
Viable alternative(s) - The app I use to catalog my collection is well maintained, has a great search function, allows me to export my collection easily to a spreadsheet, and will post any corrections I send them within a week or two in their next update. (and there have not been many corrections, just a few very old items like event dials and objects from years ago). Its team building function is superior to this site's in my view.
To answer the OP's question directly, I am finding I am using HCRealms unit section less and less for the above reasons, only coming here to check out the forums and read Rurouni82's articles. Google searching Heroclix topics often takes me to Reddit and blogs these days as well, meaning conversations may be shifting elsewhere also.
