This week, I wanted to throw out some smaller scenarios I've done that were tied to movie, Blu-Ray or video game releases.
Avengers Infinity War:
I thought this was a pretty fun one. It helped that I had 6 players that night. I handed one Gem from the Infinity Gauntlet OP to each player. If you KO'ed their Gem Holder, the figure that KO'ed the figure became equipped with the Gem. The gems carried over to later rounds.
So by the last game, you could maybe have a full gauntlet depending on the rounds! Seemed like everyone had a lot of fun. For prizes, I did the typical 1st/Fellowship, but I also surprised them with a 3rd prize for whoever had the most gems!
Deadpool 2:
I think it's pretty obvious I'm a MASSIVE Deadpool mark... it's sick really. Luckily most of my players are at least fans of him as well. But when the movie came out on Blu Ray, I focused a scenario on one scene: X-Force's air drop! To simulate Deadpool watching his team die around him, if Deadpool would be KO'ed and another friendly figure that isn't a bystander is still on the map, instead roll 1 d6. On a roll of 3-6, Deadpool is not KO'ed. Place him on his last Non KO click and heal him half the result. If the friendly figure is named Domino, increase the healing by 1. The figure had to be named "Deadpool" specifically, 100 or less poitns, and no other figure could have Deadpool/-Pool in the name. So none of the chases or the Jet (which I didn't think about but should have allowed). It was just a fun way to represent Deadpool's team dying around him while he's fine. I probably could have included a Force Blast mechanism to blow figures around the map for the Wind Advisory... maybe stole the ODST Trooper's drop trait!
Not a movie, but a thing:
Every so often, I like to make my players guess. I'll do a tourney where you HAVE to have an ID card with an Inspirate/Intimidation effect. The first time, your entire team got to use the Effect. Did it again later, and some of them remembered... but they didn't know that I was going to flip it... your OPPONENT'S team got to use your Effect! Someone gave their opponent Power Cosmic. Oops. Another I've been toying with is since you assign a figure to that ID card... they put that figure on their team as 5 point figure... but if KO'ed, your opponent still gets their full value. Always fun to keep your players guessing so they can't "break" the scenario.
Comic Con:
One I was going to do, but wasn't able to get to, is around our local Comic Con time (oops, there was a lawsuit... FanX) I like to do a tournament where you can only use figures voiced or played by someone in attendance. For ours, we could have done Yondu, Beast Boy, Superman, Atom, Black Canary and Dr. McCoy for some examples. I wouldn't get to hung up on versions (hasn't been a Teen Titans Go! version of Beast Boy), let it be broad and it's fun. Great build for the Premium Convention floor map from WK! Extra points if you have a pic with them!
That's it for this week! Thanks for reading! Get out there and Cause a Scene-ario

I went to Fan X last weekend. Took photos with Caity Lotz, met Brandon Routh, Chuck Norris, and John Wesley Shipp. It was a fantastic time and i cosplayed all three days. Does anybody have a link to where to obtain the premium convention map?

It's something your store can order with their clix stuff. I'm not 100% sure if they have them any more or not, but you can ask. I'm sure someone is selling one on eBay...

It's great. If they've been around when you did it prior times, they get very unsure.. "Do i play something that will help me? But what if my opponent is getting it... but what about..." so it's very tricky!
