Question: For the above effect, would I be able to use it to place Ultimate Thor adjacent to characters named Thorus or Thordis? (In reference to MR. ULTIMATE THOR)
Answer: No. "Thor" must be its own separate word. The character does not have to be specifically named Thor though, so characters such as Destroyer Thor, Boar Thor, and Dino-Thor will apply.
I would be able to place Ultimate Thor adjacent to TMT 049 Thor Odinson, correct?
Wishing for competitive Judge Dredd figures for Modern Age...WizKids are you listening?!?!
The Thor nonsense could have been alleviated by giving everyone Thor Corps keyword and making that the only requirement on the power...just complicates things by having a name and keyword requirement...how much does it really hurt to allow Thorus and Thordis? Thorus is at least thematic because same set, its a PD Thor, its obviously the same theme as Ult. Thor, just odd...didn't we get a ruling like this on Deadpool with the whole Blind Al and Weasel thing back in the day? I get Denethor and Luthor not working as the power shows Thor being capitalized, the rest are just head-scratchingly unusual.

Protected Pulse Wave should not make it impossible to target a character with pulse wave, just allow them to retain their abilities through the attack.
Why? That would make Pulsewave an exception to the PROTECTED: (Effect) rules. "PROTECTED: (Effect) This character can’t be targeted or damaged by the specified effect(s)." Why should Pulsewave work differently than other PROTECTED effects?
That is a terrible ruling. The actual ruling should be: "He can be targeted by Pulse Wave, but the effects of pulse wave have no effect on him. He retains his powers and abilities, and can use them during the attack." Example: If Black Panther and another character were targeted by Pulse Wave, and both characters were hit by the attack, Black Panther would take 1 damage, if he had no way to reduce it.
Protected Pulse Wave should not make it impossible to target a character with pulse wave, just allow them to retain their abilities through the attack.
Making a blanket ruling like that leaves the door open for abuse, and it will help ruin the game.
I still don’t understand how there’s confusion on this one.

PROTECTED: (Effect) This character can’t be targeted or damaged by the specified effect(s).
so if we replace “effect” with “Pulsewave” it reads like
Quote
PROTECTED: Pulsewave This character can’t be targeted or damaged by Pulsewave.
