I'm unclear on what this guy brings to the table that Death doesn't. "Exploit top-dial" doesn't really excite me... would have preferred some kind of Sinestro Corps-esque Perplex-down ability, or an increased minimum to Death's blade roll, or SOME kind of synergy. As is? Meh.
I guess I would carry Grim Reapers around by flying Ghost Realms characters, try to get an attack in with the scythe, let Death chill out in the wings, and if they get KO'd you still get Harbinger Of Death working.
Remember, there's always something cleverer than yourself.
not at all impressive. the giant reach and ew is good. how about some steal energy? i know he has regen, but come on.. its death. sidestep is good to get him into the back lines to get at those pesky support/ranged pieces, but lets be honest, for 45pts. ew005 the flash is cheaper and more effective imo. death does look sweet and all, just not field worthy
If I have multiple copies of him in play and one of my figures with Monster deals damage, does Harbinger of Death trigger once for EACH Grim Reaper I have in play, dealing several points of damage at once? Or would they trigger and instantly heal individually? If they all trigger and deal damage BEFORE the instant healing, that would be a reason to field them...
They each resolve immediately, but separately. Fielding three of these is no different from just using one, unless the enemy can't heal or something (i.e. Top-click vampire dials and Doomsday)
Play 2 of these with a Surtur(25) and Flash God of Death; you'll still have 30 points to mess with. If Flash is in range, Surtur now deals 5 damage with his initial retaliation! Yes, Flash kills the theme and can't benefit from Grim Reaper's trait, but cancelling healing is worth it.
