Just curious, but have you ever played any of the old colossals (like Fin Fang Foom) using their Scenario rules? I imagine they work well for single-player HeroClix games.
I haven't tried it single-player, but my sister and I recently started a co-op game against Fin Fang Foom (it's a big 1200 point vs 2x600 points game, so we're playing it over multiple sessions).
In my experience, colossals like Galactus & Foom just aren't fun to actually play. Now I did have a decent battle with Galactus as part of the God Squad vs. Chaos King controlling Odin etc.
Foom is still on of the best display pieces to come out of the game though.
I did Galactus plus Heralds vs. Anti-Monitor with something once. I forget how that even went. Think Galactus outranged Anti-Monitor which "forced" Anti-Monitor to "let" him have the first shot & that was that?

That has been my experience as well. Sure, it was fun playing original Starro at max points against two opponents who had 1100pts. a piece, once. I ended that game with the two of them never having attacked each other a single time, both of their forces completely wiped out, and Starro on his top click. Fortunately, he looks great on a shelf.
Which is why I'm glad he just got remade. I don't feel terrible about playing this one.

I want the new one. How much do you think it should eventually cost? Right now it's over $100.00.

If history is any indicator, it'll drop below retail a few months after the last convention.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

From what I've read about Fin Fang Foom (and experienced myself), he's not as powerful as the other ones, so you can play him without feeling terrible about it.
I played him once, at his 600 point line (the lowest) vs two friends cooperating with 300 points each (so not entirely within the rules). They KO'd Foom without too much trouble.
I've found the same thing with the colossal Serpent... on his lowest point value, he's pretty easy to take down with the same sized team.
The older really big colossals seem to suffer quite a bit from power creep... Big G used to be almost impossible to take down but now he can pretty easily be then down by hundreds of points less of figures.

One of the reasons I consider it no fun is it's an all or nothing deal. I play total elimination games & it's fun to see losses on both sides as the battle progresses. That doesn't happen with a colossal. You either get it & it's over or you don't.
It's a little more fun to do Galactus plus heralds vs. a huge force but another part of it I you're somewhat limited in map choice or the colossal is somewhat limited in where it can go.
Being able to be beat doesn't mean it's a fun experience … for either side … which I play both sides anyway so I prefer a close match that's well fought by both sides to a slaughter either way.
