Welcome back to another Causing a Scene-ario! This week, we're going to play with some Legos. With Lego Movie 2 out this Friday, I thought I'd whip up something to play it with. I actually got to see a sneak peak of it, and it's a lot of fun!

In the Lego Movie Universe, there are Master Builders that can build whatever they want from whatever pieces are around them. There isn't a lot of ways that can be done in HeroClix outside of Barrier. Another way you could represent building things is Support, but only on figures with the Vehicle, Robot, or maybe even Armor keywords. Though I suppose there's no reason you can't have them heal others... I'm pretty sure the Lego Characters "heal" by putting arms and such back in the sockets! I mean, Metalbeard was fully dismembered and put into a Robot body made from his ship. Maybe we don't go TOO accurate huh? (Pirate keyword can use Regen? Nah)

So let's stick with Barrier and Support. I don't think everyone should be able to use them though... not everyone is a Master Builder in the Lego World. So for my scenario, you'll choose two figures at the beginning of the game to be your Master Builders. These two characters can use Barrier, and Support (can only target Vehicle, Robot and Armor keywords). And for grins, I'm going to say that one of the two can use it as FREE instead. Just to get some use out of it.

There are actually a number of the movie's Master Builders in HeroClix! So to incentivize using them, if you choose the Movie's Builders, they can have a stat bonus. The ones I listed as legal for this are:
Superman
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Batman
UND Abraham Lincoln (ghost or zombie is ok)
Gandalf
Flash
UND Ghost
Michelangelo

Throwing a few figures from the Undead set can't hurt. If only Marvel were in on the action... but Disney isn't letting Warner play with their toys... oh well. This still gives you a lot to work with. If you don't have any of the Trinity, a GL or Flash... you must be REAL new! (or don't like DC I guess).

The last thing I'm adding is that if you use actual Legos (either sculpt swaps or as your Barrier), you'll get extra Fellowship consideration. I'm not a purist, so Mega Construx pieces will be okay too. You may not know this, but a standard HeroClix square is 4 Lego Studs by 4 Lego Studs. So you could have some SERIOUS fun with Barriers!

With character voices you could use Star-Lord to represent Emmet, Lucius Fox to be Vitruvius, Henri Ducard as Good Cop/Bad Cop...apparently Lex Luthor has a cameo in part 2.

Very true! and yeah, Lex does show up in a cameo. (saw a sneak peek a couple weeks ago)
