I am absolutely fascinated by the New Boss Every Week trait, giving lots of Maggia/Enforcers pieces a keyword that belongs to a leader/mastermind. Lots of these pieces are quite reasonably good, so I want to figure out how to break this. Lots of pieces that give benefits to their given keyword are designed with the intent that they would only benefit the figures that already have those keywords. Eternity begs to have these shenanigans, but its stats are rather poor for its cost. What leaders/masterminds are out there who benefit their keywords specifically? Offhand, the X-Men headmasters and Battleworld barons all come to mind.
Maggia the robot armyThe Amazon sisterhood of the Maggia. Actually kind of scary, when I think of all those Maggia pieces & flunkies with Empower...
If you really want to stretch, just put in Silver Sable and use literally whatever keyword you want. Of course, if we then list everyone that helps people who share a keyword with them, we'll be here all year.
While the Enforcers certainly benefit from such shared abilities, their New Boss trait kicks in "at the beginning of the game," not during force construction. Just a note, meaning they will break themed teams.
Well, two things here.
1) Yes, I totally realize this happens after determining theme. Maybe that matters, maybe not. My first thought was to make a politician themed team with these Maggia and lead them with She-Hulk of Battleworld: Other, but some of the figures I listed couldn't possibly keep a theme with Maggia.
2) The figures others have contributed here simply provide benefits to their keywords, but do not have the prerequisite Leadership/Mastermind (aside from one Spock). Those figures would necessitate another such figure within their ranks so the Maggia can get the keyword or else the inclusion of Silver Sable to force it.
Leadership, Enforcers pick up MOE or Thunderbolts kw and gain Sidestep and modify attack values +1. Plus if they are adjacent and he is successful with his Leadership roll they can benefit from that as well.
Fun thread. Leaving aside shenanigans with Silver Sable, SFoSM Baron Zemo and TR Odin seem like clear winners here. Hydra seems like a good choice as well.
One thing that’s got me intrigued are that all three of the Rare Enforcers have the Politician keyword—a generic that doesn’t get tons of love (shoutout to Organous for the SWB Prime She-Hulk mention). I’m looking at the Earth X 050 Green Goblin at 75 points, to give the Enforcers the Sinister Syndicate keyword and Outwit protection. I’d round that out with ADW 057 Kingpin or SFoSM 011 Kingpin, who both have specials that work off the shared Politician keyword (and they’re thematic to boot).
Another option for a Politician theme team is to boost their defense with Koloth from Star Trek: TOS (too bad he’s 60 instead of 50, when the other Klingon Politician is 100 points...)
Leaving aside the Politician thing, ST:AT:TOS has a lot of Leaders and a lot of keyword bonuses for its three big factions. Kinda looks like the Klingons might have the most, but Nurse Chapel and Lt. Leslie and them can all help the Enforcers more if what they’re Enforcing happens to be the Prime Directive.
This one’s a bit oblique, but the one I’m most likely to try: induct the Enforcers into the Champions with TMT037 Ms. Marvel, then use the specials on AI022 Nova and SWB047 Viv Vision. Hey, the keywords on the new Miles got borked and there are several other members who are missing the keyword and/or inconveniently-point-costed, time for some ringers.
Oh, and maybe I’ll use the recent Gert/Old Lace pairs to make the Enforcers into Runaways, for remote leadership, IM: Characters, and multi-carry via Chase.
Others:
Diana Prince, Justice Rider is one of my favorite keyword-bonus-giving figs, and she seems like Fancy Dan’s kinda gal.
Supremor’s about two days from getting all the Kree he can handle, but the Enforcers can help out for now.
