As much as I love the cosmic abstracts from the set, they all suck at their highest point values compared to the colossals from Thor and SM/WW because of one simple reason: they lack multi-attack at 600+ points.
Mr Tribunal here has nowhere near the damage output necessary to to anything of note against a 900 point team of stats that can now easily hit a 20 Defense Value.
Hell, I'd wager that a team half his cost could beat him. His -1 action total trait helps him at his lower values, but the difference between 8 or 9 actions is nowhere near as substantial as the dfference between 2 or 3 actions
"I remember you said to me once, you said... 'if death ever comes your way and won't let you pass... make sure you scream right back in his face"
Isn't the Living Tribunal supposed to be the absolute highest of the high (or second highest to the One Above All) in the Marvel pantheon? This is kind of weak for an entity of such vast cosmic importance.
Well, yes. We are talking about the second-most powerful entity in the entire Marvel Universe. I've seen fan figures of this character than ran into the 2000 pt range. And yet, the actual official version ranks below the Supreme Intelligence, multiple Dark Phoenixes, The Serpent and even frigging MASTER MOLD. You're a sad cosmic arbiter when an overgrown tin can with the power of robot pregnancy costs more than you.
The One Above All is the only character in the entirety of the Marvel Universe that can do more than the Living Tribunal. He literally has the power to say that the Infinity Gems can no longer be used together. So yeah. There's no way anyone could touch this character on their own. You'd have to be on par with the cosmic entities to lay a finger on this guy, and he's a multidimensional arbiter of the One Above All.
I think you guys are missing the amazing verdicts he gives out. If you're actually playing him at 900 you are most likely playing a 1000 point game. That's 100 points of friendlies that can be koed to help dish out evidence tokens. He is most likely going to be outnumbered so that's less actions for your opponent because of his trait, they will also either have to take 1 unavoidable each turn or have battle fury and earthbound for the rest of the game. Attacking a character with a 13 range while possessing battle fury is quite challenging. Multiattack would have broken him. This games power creep is expanding so much so that unless a figure has a broken element....it is considered useless.
Besides, I'll state the obvious. The colossals in this set were designed to be played as supportive pieces on their lower point dials. This guys 150 point dial is simply amazing.
People don't dislike this figure for not being broken. People dislike it because it's a poor representation of the character. There's plenty of characters that can be made into support colossals and accurately represent the character. The Living Tribunal isn't one of them.
Sure he is. Not once has the living tribunal gone on a all out rampage at full power. He lurks behind the scenes and places judgement on lesser beings. Also a 13 attack pulsewave for 6 damage while sporting 19 invincible sounds like a god click to me.
