From the WK ruling on yeah he does that: Note that, when applying Batman's effect, you disregard the source character and the target character (Batman) for occupancy purposes, but you still consider the terrain of the square the source character and the target character (Batman) occupy.
so this came up yesteray. colossal figure wants to target batman with a close attack from 3 squares away. batman is in hindering terrain.
now this specific batman is not using stealth he is using his special power. with my understanding of the wording for Giant Reach - "...you may use IT:H and target character(s) within X squares and line of fire.
now since batman is in hindering and has his ability "YEAH. HE DOES THAT.: Lines of fire drawn to Batman are blocked unless the line of fire crosses only unoccupied clear squares."
my ruling was that the colossal could not target batman with giant reach because of the line of fire. was i correct?
Giant Reach considers pieces X squares away adjacent for attack purposes. Colossals automatically have, like, giant reach:3 I think. They should be able to punch him with a close combat attack from 3 squares away. Stealth (And this Batman's trait) only protects from range combat attacks and outwit and such.
Hmm...I always assumed it said that to factor in blocking terrain. But technically, Batman's trait negates IM: hindering. so yeah, you ruled correctly. Not sure I like that though, it kinda goes against the spirit of giant reach.
I truly love this Batman. Yeah he's missing some Toughness, but he's exactly how I think of Batman. He's ready to stop just about any scenario with Outwit and Outsiders. He's got super-stealth and forces the opponent to come at him with 19 defense, pretty solid for 85 points. He can double-Incapacitate while also having Indomitable, allowing you to take pretty reasonable control. He even has the ability to reposition your enemies as the cherry on top! This is not an "ultimate" Batman by any means. He's not prepared to face cosmic threats. However, this is a very Gotham City version of Batman, and will be my main piece as such for a long time to come. The Batarang version is also very strong, but this one just seems more efficient.
A bit overcosted for 5 clicks no?
If i’m sinking 15 points less than 100 into a tertiary attacker i better get more than an 11 attack with incap. The BvS Batfleck is the exact same point value but has a few less gimmicks AND still has justice league KW
That sculpt tho 5/5

He is squishy but I wouldn’t considered him overcosted for all of the utility he provides along with his offense. The Outsiders team ability on top of what he can do is actually undercosted in a way when you look at what previous Outsiders have offered.
WIN/LOSS: 4-4 Rebirth Batman may not be the Batman we want, but he is the Batman we need. Outsiders is hugely important vs the sea of modifiers - especially as we suffer through the "benched powers" idiocy of 2021 as well as the abuse of the Power Gem. Being unable to draw Line of Fire to Batman if the LoF does not only cross clear, unoccupied terrain, helps vs the myriad of long range / unlimited ranges various Mind Controllers and RCE + Psy-Blast monsters seem to get. 85 is a lot for 5 clicks of life, but he does provide a chance against the current HeroClix-scape many of us find ourselves in right now...
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

15.5 Unoccupied Squares
Unoccupied squares are any squares on the map that don’t have a character within it (occupying it) and isn’t a square of blocking terrain. This is regardless of being clear, hindering, or having objects or markers in it.
