the way it's worded, It seems as if the Ko'd fig beside the SS is the 1 to get the Roll. But thank You, This is the Start I may have been looking for.

Just tell 'em "dead is dead." Look under defeated characters in the new rule book. "As soon as three KO symbols appear in a character's stat slot, that character is defeated. Remove the character from the map. It is KOd and no longer part of the game."

There is no pause to check for team abilities to function once a character is KO'd.

So the ability now reads as --

"SUICIDE SQUAD When an adjacent friendly character is KOd, roll one six-sided die and subtract 2 from the result. If the result is less than 1, the result is 1. This character is healed of damage equal to the result."

In this sentence, "this character" refers to the person with the SSquad ability. There is no more confusion. It's more than just a start... it's the answer.
