I just want to go on the record and say that I have nothing against the inclusion of chases nor do I have anything against the exclusion of them. So long as I have more figs to collect, generally I'm pretty happy.

I don't understand why anyone would enjoy having products made more difficult to acquire. Also, with 16 super rares instead of 12, it just makes each SR that much rarer, so it's not like there's no more reason to buy boosters.
Chases are crappy. I want to play the game, not jump through hoops to get the pieces I need to play the game.

SR rarity is more than enough. Want something rarer, collectors? Hunt down some Masterpieces.
I really like the idea of having a piece or two from each set like what did they did with the sculpt of Nightcrawler and the varient. Everyone has the chance to play with the fig, but there is still something of chase level rarity for the completionists to try and acquire. Drives sales some without alienating anyone.

Yeah, that works for me. Something ultra-rare for the Type A's, and something commonly available for the rest of us.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
I would be okay with Mail-Away Masterpieces. The mail-away/internet code form would stand out since they stopped putting checklists/new mechanics guides in the boosters.
This way they wouldn't have to use special packaging for the Masterpiece fig and it's CoA. Maybe this would also make them look like true Masterpiece's. Heck, hire Pheonixforce or another quality modder to make the Masterpieces.
The more I write about this idea, the more I like it. I am off to the Dear Wizkids section.
It's okay man. It's not your fault. No, really it's not your fault man.

Agreed. I've said before that as a mostly DC guy, I stopped buying Marvel clix when chases were introduced because that money went to the secondary market to get the chases to complete my DC sets. Because of this news, I'm planning on going to my venue this week to preorder a brick of WoS. I'm hoping this policy stays in place for a long time. 16 SR vs. 12 seems like a really nice compromise to me. I'm also in favor of the Nightcrawler variant for those who want to play the booster lottery, as the gameplay elements of the chase and non-chase variants are the same.
I don't mind chases but having them in every set gets old so I'm all for the let's change if there are going to be chases in every set rule. It's another thing to keep us guessing.
Generally speaking I'm happy to hear that there aren't any chases, just because I'm coming to Heroclix from a gamer's perspective, not a collector's perspective, and I don't really like the idea that people can't play the character that they want to because it's so hard to get your hands on. I don't value my figures based on how hard they were for me to get or on how many other people have them.
I never hated chase figures, but then I've never been a completionist (and WK never made a chase that was a "must-have" for me) so it's a little different. I've pulled two chases in my time, just out of pure luck and neither from a set that I bought more than a brick of, and while it is kinda cool to pull something that you didn't expect to get, I think it's more important that everyone can get the pieces they want with relative ease.
All that said, if no chases = poor returns, then naturally the well-being of WK and Heroclix takes precedence for me, and I'd rather they kept chases around if it meant keeping the company afloat. I would just as soon they restricted them to one-shots and novelty characters (which for the most part they have done a good job of) rather than relegating a whole team or theme of characters to chase status (like SN's zombies and BatB's Black Lanterns). That way, very few people are going to be seriously upset at the difficulty of acquiring them, and yet they still drive collectors to make big purchases, thus helping the company and the secondary market.
You realise that this is just slightly rarer than a Rare, and more common than a Super Rare?
If it's easy to get, it's not a chase figure anymore.
The only way that makes any sense is if you are saying that the odds of getting any chase are equivilent to getting a specific rare or super rare.
If there are four chases it would take 4 cases to get a complete collection.
That is two more cases than it would take to complete every other part of the set.
