I may be mistaken, but I was informed by a judge that since outwit is one of the few powers that does not specify a friendly or opposing target, that it is legal.
I see what happened. If you look at outwit under the marvel and DC power sheets it doesn't say that, but under the new rules I.E.Indy it does,so they changed it.Thanks for the heads up.
No prob. I used to use a similar tactic before the rules change with a flyer at Soaring. My Soarer would be out of range of my opponent because he was soaring ...then I'd use my Outwitter to drop my Soarer to hovering and be within range to attack. That was legal during the first few months of the first Marvel set (IC). They quickly errated that though. I'm surprised your judge didn't know about it.
Mind control mind control and yes more mind control. In a 3-4 player game perplex attack up( me myself i use Mandarin) then send the poor sap to wrong side of town and attack,oh yes he takes a push marker.

Sadly, they don't take that push marker anymore. I miss that. MC is still good, but it just lost a lot of it's oomph. And being able to mind control the same character several times in a turn, or when he already has 2 action tokens, well, I'm sorry, but it just doesn't make up for it.
What is this with all of the mind control changes? The opponent doesn't take a token/push any more? And I thought that you couldn't chain MC. for example I didn't think you could MC a fig with MC and then use their MC because the one action would be the MC itself and then they revert to the other team so you can't give the other fig an action. is that wrong?
I always enjoyed perplexing range just when my opponent thought they were safe.
After getting hit by my Deathstroke's energy explosion, my opponent went back to what he thought was a safe distance. I perplexed the range and hit five of his characters with energy explosion again.
"My trick (at least it works in a 400 point game) is on my first turn to have two taxis with a 10 movement each, carry outwitters and place them in the 11th square, just in range to outwit anybody in the opponents front line. I usually turn of the opponent's TK and whatever else might threaten me (perplex). That sends the other player into a mad scramble to rethink his strategy, heh, heh, heh"
I do that now too, especially with the NAAT. I've basically forced my friends to use Johnny Alphas hiding behind objects now.
Was playin a friend and came up with this:
Use 32 pt E Whirlwind beside E Ultron using Ultrons attack factor of 13. Perplex Whirlwinds damage up to a 5 or better to do 2 flurry attacks at 13 AF for 5+ damage. I have taken out just about every kind of fig with one attack with that move. Fun, Fun, Fun!!
I used this tactic about a week ago in a Heroclix tournament. The format was 200 pts Mixed, "Rookie Maneuvers" (all rookies). My team was:
Deathstroke
Hawkman
Invisible Girl
Jean Grey
Scarab
Taskmaster
199 pts
The tactic that I used was to have Hawkman carry Invisible Girl around for free (JLA TA). When my next turn is over and Hawkman is free, I would then have him Charge into an opposing character while carrying Invisible Girl and attack them. This tactic and many others helped me win first (picked up the Barbara Hershey LE, but then traded her for the Madame Hydra LE).
