I must say, this thread may have reached the end of its usefulness.
In one last effort to bring us back on topic I want to gather opinions on the use of a trap card that I am currently experimenting with for Fiends.
Labyrinth of Nightmare (not the set that gave us Necrofear) switches the position of monsters on the turn player's side of the field at the end of the turn. Though this may seem like a pure fun card with no serious uses, I have found that it increases the usefulness of Giant Orc.
some of you may recall my Sloth deck (sin# 4), which is where I got the idea. I am able to attack with Orc and at the end of my turn it will switch back to attack position. This is a 2 card combo that takes out the drawback of using 3 Orcs.
Another fiend that has returned from a vacation at the circus is Crass Clown. If you have been in this game for 4 yrs you may remember how deadly a Gravity Bind/Clown Control deck is. my only problem with Crass clown is that it isnt as effective as Dream clown for Field control..It always takes 1 extra turn to have Crass Clown switch positions and use its effect, as compared to Dream Clown, unless you can Special summon Crass in face up Defense.
In my trial tests, I have found that Labyrinth of Nightmare (the trap) is fun to play, an effective strategy, and a REAL annoyance card for opponents
the biggest drawback is not the fact its a continuous trap either. Its a fun strategy that isnt crucial to winning, but will distract and divert s/t removal by your opponent. No, the drawback is that Fiends are not big into trample effects. Mesfit, sure. But the General cant do it alone! Also, Fiend Duelists that find themselves facing a Trample Beast Deck may want to side deck LoN, otherwise you will find yourself on the losing end of the strategy.
Now, Back to you. (but, for a while lets keep it serious, folks)
lets see what happens to your 3 torrentials, with my 3 MSTs.
just because you have 3 torrentials doesnt mean that one will be f/d when dimension fusion is used, coz with m/t removal, it wont really be a problem, and most of the time, torrential would probably be used on another of my summons, so you wont have one when fusion is used.
besides, dimension fusion might be situational, and so i only side deck it. all iwas doing is giving a point to what evil can happen after necrofear removes fiends from play.
and lets just see what happens to the torrentials after the bans :p :p :p
I dont want to double post but I didn't get an answer so.
I have been thinking of adding archfiends to my deck and wanted to know if 2 vilepawn archfiends will create a lock to where your oppt. cant attack.

correct.
the situation is kind of like having two marauding captains.
my apologies. Yes, 2 face up Vilepawn Archfiends create a lock in the same manner that 2 marauding Captains do. The difference is that pesky cost that archfiends carry. So, in the long run the Vilepawn is not as effective as a stall strategy, since you end up the worse for wear as each turn passes.
thanks for the info. I was thinking of running Archfiend/pandemonium along with dark ruler and necrofear. Just to let the dard ruler and his queen (necrofear) inspect another part of there fiend army.
Just somthing I have been wanting to do for a long while, dont know if it will work. If anyone has some good suggestions for a good turney archfiend deck Im listening
thanks to all of you that have turned me onto the path of the fiends, i am fairly new to them, and ideas on what packs to buy, or cards to look out for are greatly appreciated
My personal preference would be for Legacy of Darkness. It brings you the Dark Ruler Ha Des, Yata (banned or not, its still woth having), Dark Balter the terrible.
Dark Crisis will give you Mesfit the Infernal General and Great Maju Garzette, which are great introduction fiends to use as tributes.
Labyrinth of Nightmare brought the one and only Blue Lady: Dark Necrofear. I would become familiar with the basic ropes of fiends before using her. She isnt that difficult to use, but if you screw it up, there are a few of us (Waldo, Dark Magic User, and myself) tht may get really upset with you. (especially Waldo, its his wife) .........j/k........kind of...
There is not a set made that hasnt provided great support for Fiends, outside of LOB. Even Magician's Force gave us Giant Orc. But those are the ones I would start with.
Just one thing to remember to the one that wishes to draw upon the cursed power of the Archfiends. The Vilepawns only work for other Archfiends, so he's best used if you're deck is mostly or totally Archfiends. Overall, the Archfiends aren't the best people to play around with, as they'd rather be by themselves to take the most advantage of their effects. In addition, they play slowly and concentrate more on board presence than any other type of deck in my opinion. Use Falling Down to your advantage, it can take away any monster to use against them, and with the restriction of MST coming, it becomes more evil.
Skull Knight #2
DARK/Fiend/3/1000/1200 If you Tribute Summon a monster by offering this monster as a Tribute, Special Summon 1 "Skull Knight #2" from your Deck in face-up Attack or Defense Position. Your Deck is then shuffled.
You know, I think the card database might have the text wrong. I always thought the text started with "If you Tribute Summon a Fiend-type monster by offering this monster as a Tribute, Special....". Oh well. Maybe MY memory of a fiend monster has faded..... Does that happen?!?!?!?
Skull Knight #2....Meeeee-mories....I remember when I play tested this card. I was doubtful but quickly realized how fun AND deadly it is. As the Squid mentioned, It's great for Necrofood. And in Non-Ban List Tournaments, a GREAT monster to have in defense mode in case of a Mirror Force. It's also good when you know what that face-down ribute summon Ha Des and Special Summon Skull Knight #2. SK2 attacks the face-down monster and Dark Ruler will let his 2450 ATK for a direct hit on your opponent.
Oh, and uhhh....leave the Archfiends to the Archfiends. I can BARELY balance Terrorking, Soldier and Desrook in my deck....barely! Vilepawn Archfiend is a GREAT card. Most people who run Archfiends don't run Vilepawn, but those people are NOT Fiendish Duelists, they are Beatdown players disguised as fiend users. An Archfiend Deck without Vilepawns is like a Chess Set without pawns. It might SOUND stronger but it's really just weakened beyond comprehension.
I LOVE having 2 Vilepawns on the field. It feels GREAT. I've also had 1 Vilepawn and 2 Infernalqueen. Vilepawn maintained himself at 3200atk and being the only candidate for an attack. Sometimes I had to settle for Vilepawn at 2200, a Queen at 1900 and a Queen at 900, just to rid the field of a few monsters and then switched back to the 3200atk Vilepawn.
My Archfiend deck isn't complete yet. I still need to replace Summoned Skull with Skull Archfiend of Lightning and I only have 2 Pandemoniums. But it should be done in about 2 weeks. I added Mazera DeVille for the fun factor and obese hand destruction. The only monster in the whole deck who isn't an archfiend is Fiber Jar. Why Fiber Jar? Well, because I run 3 Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell.
I would love to talk some more, but I need to go to Brooklyn.
I'll be right back.

New York, NY Barney:" I'm Barney Gumble, and I'm an alcoholic." Lisa: Mr. Gumble, this is a girl scout meeting. Barney:Is it? Or is it that you girls can't admit that you have a problem!
eh? I am almost positive last night I posted that my Undead Army is no longer of use after the Ban list and I would be using fiends for a while......That took around 20 minutes to type too.....oh well..... (heh I probably accedently posted it in a different thread)
well, yea I am going to put Zombies on the shelf for a while until more playable Zombies become available.
Waldo, I had the same problem as you a few months ago. With extensive trading and bargaining, I was able to get my third, but now I still have to get Skull Archfiend of Lightning. Super powered Summoned Skull is what I like to call him. The reincarnation of my old friend...
My only problem is the Bishop. He's harder to use than a Pawn. But, with the loss of mass removal and the uprise of targetting removal, the only thing he won't be able to help me against are fissures and smashing ground.
Skull Knight #2
Yes Waldo, this card does state that the tribute monster that you use must be a Fiend. I also played this card when it first came out, but it was just too slow.
Now, with the removal of Dark Hole and Raigeki, (mass removal) this card might be a nice alternative for us fiend users, especially if your running more than 1 tribute. Like Germ, will give you some Field control, 1200 ATT isn't that bad.
Best ran in 3's, like Germ, Peten, Assailant, etc........
Congradulations. I have officially hung up magicians until (at least until a few cards are released). After a few revisions of my fiend deck, I took third in my local tournament, only losing to a chaos deck. Although I didn't go down without a very lengthly fight.
I have yet a few more questions. I know, I promised I'd stop, but I've had a taste of blood. The ban is going to mess up my deck quite a bit, so I've been looking for ways to enhance its strengths, rather than replace the banned cards. It seems to be very strong in the beatdown/control area, and also negating effects.
I know it was mentioned before in this thread, but would running 3x Archfiend Soldier and one Terrorking Archfiend be recommended? Also, since Terrorking cannot be normal summoned or set with an archfiend on the field, can he be special summoned without one?
Mystic Tomatos or not? They pull out Newdoria, Jeroid, etc. but are they worth it? My Tomatos more often then not get destroyed by card effects, rather than in battle.
desolutionist - Big names such as Jinzo, Spirit Reaper, D.D. Warrior Lady, etc. have all lent their services to the Dark Ruler in my deck, lol..
