forget blade, forget strange... i say marvel should try harder on it's new cut characters (Other than a horribly writen girl with very familar powers and costume)
anyone rember the "Sentinel" comic? it had a kid named justin rebuilding and befriending a downed sentinel. if they milked it better and let the terrific writer have abit more say so than the current morons at marvels head then they'd have a winner. i can see new heroes attracting more attention because they're relatable for people relatively new to comics.
I love Blade, and I was really hoping that Tomb of Dracula was going to be an ongoing series again, with the whole Dracula angle finishing in a bit more than 4 issues. It was a great 4 issue mini and I hope they do more with the character as he is in the comics. I certainly don't want to just have Blade The Movie The Comic.
Someone also said it earlier, and I agree. Tomb of Dracula and Blade are perfect candidates for a Marvel Knights title.
Sorry sluggo, but I must disagree with you just this once
I could see Blade in the comics with more movie-like powers, but as far as the Nightstalkers go...NO WAY sorry!!!!
Frank Drake as the weaponsmith wielding good ol' Linda is way better than making him the new Dracula.
Hannibal King in the books is about the coolest (undead) Vampire of all time. His overcoming the bloodlust and turning to alcohol...just plain cool. His battles when he switches from mist to wolf to vampire...way cool.
One of the best was his slugfest with my man Morbius...just wow!!!
If they had gone with a comic-style King, the movie woulda been an even greater success....but then Blade would have been a mere supporter...and I don't think Snipes would have liked that.

Actually, the Nightstalkers series ended with a story left incomplete. I have read were, at the end of the series, when the place they were in exploded, Frank Drake and King were to of come out of it merged together as a new Dracula. Considering Drake is a living decendent of Drac, it might've worked. But the story never saw it to print and later , another story was written where King finally gave in to his cravings for human blood. I have no idea where that story led to, I never did like those guys.
One thing Marvel could do is use Blade to start up a new superhero team comprised of heroes like Dr Strange, Moonknight, Ghostrider and maybe even bring back Werewolf By Night(don't recall his real name)and toss him in the mix for that extra tense edge to the team.
I know there are alot more characters they could use.
They could take on all supernatural threats to the planet-old villians as well as new.
Is Morbius dead yet? If not, they could kill him off.
