Each character will be represented by a dial, and the action will take place on a map, set up by the GM, I'm pretty sure. We have to work as a team, like we each have one figure, and we've got an objective to complete. Right?
Long story short he's a covert op-type, and the first two slots show various intel powers. The second two slots are where he runs in blasting, and the last two are him getting away. The PC on the very last click represents somebody stepping in to save his butt, be it part of the plan or otherwise.

So here's my character. Johnny Marvel! He brings some perplex and enhancement to the team. He's a space-age genius super-hero, like Adam Strange with a little Reed Richards.
Sorry I'm late, I'm having some trouble getting the dial generator to work. I can put in my numbers allright, but nothing seems to happen when I press the "powers" button. As soon as I get around this little setback I'll have a character and a concept for you guys in a second

That is correct, you don't play other people you play your scenario that I run. Right now Juggernut and Melkhor were the official people but there were 3 others. I'm going to give them till Monday to say if they are staying or not cause I know some people are busy on the weekend. If they aren't then,*34*, cquinn333, jean_genie and Al_Mattiyahu can all join as I had this originally planned for six anyway.
Remember though, I don't want you just making your own character, the point is to make a well rounded team so you guys should talk about how you want to split powers up. Or you can just have 1 person make a dial, then the next using different abilities, then the next, until all characters are made. You character is not nearly as important as the team in this, keep that in mind. But like I said, for you 4, you are welcome to keep talking about stuff, but if the initial group does still want to play then I won't have room for you.
Ok, everyone I've got a handful of potential characters and concepts ready, here are two of them, tell me what you think, and which one you'd prefer to have on the team
The first one is Daybreak, a "normal" human being, who through intense discipline, training and self-conditioning have pushed himself above and beyond the limits of his physical body. He's a highly talented acrobat, hand-to-hand fighter and an accomplished martial artist, drawing on his massive willpower and belief in himself to keep going against impossible odds. His leadership doesn't so much represent actual tactical skill or awareness, but more his natural charisma and inspiring presence.
He sees himself as the defender of those who cannot defend themselves, and as the ray of light that brings hope in the dark of night (hence the name). He is (at least in his own mind) the ultimate example of what humanity can accomplish, if mankind only applies itself to the good cause and actually wills itself to improve.

The dial itself is pretty self-explanatory. He charges in, ducking and weaving to avoid incoming fire (energy shield), while inspiring his allies to push to greater lenghts (leadership). Once in combat, he keeps his opponent pinned, or disengage with ease (plasticity), hitting where it hurts (exploit weakness and close combat expert) while applying his incredible reflexes to dodge and duck under their attacks (combat reflexes).
After taking a few hits, he gives it everything he has to take down his opponent, though his aim suffers somewhat for it, (flurry and willpower) his psyche so focused on the task that he shuts out all attempts to sway his mind (battle fury). Finally, when he knows that he's beat, he leaps out of the fray to hopefully fight on another day.
The second is Cthonian, a character somewhat inspired by Namor and the Moloids.Once a king and high priest of his people, he is the last of his kind, a sub-terranean humanoid race that ruled the Earth long before the dawn of man, until a vast ecological disaster destroyed their underground empire. Only he survived, sealed within his temple in a death-like trance until an archaological dig accidently unearthed and revived him to life in a vastly different world. His completely alien mindset, coupled with countless millennia in suspended animation left him somewhat at odds with the brave new world he awoke to, but after some unfortunate misunderstandings, he now fights for his place in the world with the guidance of a band of, if not sympathetic, then understanding heroes. Completely adapted to a life in the lightless depths beneath the earth, Cthonian possesses amazing control over the element he claims to rule. He can tunnel and dig through almost any object at incredible speed with his diamond-hard talons (though he could easily carve through softer materials. such as flesh and bone as well, he considers such base and savage practice to be deeply beneath him), command the earth to rise up to protect him, or lash out at his enemies and even create localized earthquakes. His non-human metabolism also allows him to recover from injury and regenerate at an astounding rate.
The chance to travel across space and time to other dimmensions has given him the hope that he might one day find a world like the one he has lost and return to his old life once again.

The phasing on his dial represents his ability to tunnel through almost anything, the pulse wave and energy shield is him either causing the earth to lash out flinging boulders and rockshards around himself, or block incoming missile fire. The stealth is either when he conceals himself underground, or employs his sonar to hide in himself in lightless areas. Energy explosion and barrier again representing boulders or magma hurled at opponents or raised from the ground to form shields and walls.
Forceblast and Quake are his seismic powers, making the earth shake beneath him to keep foes at a distance. Once he's taken some serious damage, his primal instincts take over as he hurls himself savagely at those who hurt him, trying to take them apart with his murderous claws. At this point he's too enraged to concentrate on anything but the target infront of him, at least until his body has had a chance to patch himself together again.
That's what I got so far, any kind of feedback is more than welcome, and I'm very much looking forward to getting this show on the road with you guys.

Grant Mason was a always an odd kid. He was always more comfortable alone in the mountains than anywhere else. His rock collection was spectacular, with many rare specimens in it. He always said they were easy to find, usually just sitting there at the surface. It was when he was a teenager that he learned the full extent of his powers. He doesn't talk about the harrowing experience, but it became clear to him that he had some control over the various minerals of the earth. They rocks and stones would just come to him when he wanted them to. Over the next 12years he honed his skills as a super hero, donning the name Conglomerate.
He uses his mastery over the rocks in the earth to perform various feats. Firstly, he can cause rocks to leap from the ground at a short distance from himself pummeling his opponents (Range Attack -4). If he concentrates he can have the earth rise up in a solid wall (Barrier) or lift him like an elevator for short distances (Leaping/Climbing). His greatest strength is using the earth to encompass himself in layers of stone armor, not only providing him with armored protection (Invulnerability/Toughness), but enhanced strength [Super Strength](the earth lifts for him) and rock hard fists (Close Combat Expert). He can make the earth around him impede his foes (Plasticity), or release shockwaves (Quake). When he gets weaker and his armor is chipped away he can try to refocus his energies to bring it back (Regenerate). Standing near him during such a refocus is a bad idea as a storm of rock chips and debris fly around him at this time (Poison). With these powers over the earth itself, he has proven his worth against villains time and time again.

I'll work on a backstory later, but for now I'll just point out that my character is meant to be primarily a support figure to other attackers. He's unlikely to take out a super-powered baddie on his own, but he can make it very difficult for him to hurt his team. He'd basically be the guy that fires into a mob to cause panic and weaken them up, and then try to assassinate their leader, and sneak out before anybody could pin it on him.
If it comes down to it, I don't mind swapping around some powers a little to help out the group. Eventually I think he'd max out at a 10 range 2 target, or an 8 range 3 target, depending on what powers he had. He'd have a pretty similar power layout, though I'd try to sneak RS on there somewhere. He'd probably never have more than 7 clicks of life.

My back story is that Phantom (Ray Mac) was burnt in a fire when he was young which deformed most of his face. His home was lit on fire by a group of ruthless thugs that wanted to kill his father for not hiring them to work with him. Ray was the only one to survive in his family, and decided to get revenge on all villainous people. Ray fought off villains in his city, and tried to keep the world peaceful. As Phantom, Ray rules his city from all evil, and has been contacted by a squad of heroes to join them on there journeys.

Ouch. That one is a lot meaner. Curious though .... does the phasing represent actual phasing, or is that sort of a 'slips right through people' like Serpent Society seems to be? Also, I might think about shifting the attack/damage values around .... if you plan on using TK early on, you're not getting the full value from a higher attack and damage number. I'm a min/maxer though, so ... grain of salt Cool design though!

Actually, I believe the Serpent Society's phasing is supposed to represent Sidewinders teleportation cloak, which he used to transport members around (and spring them from prison whenever they were arrested, one of his main selling points when he first recruited the other society members), though that's neither here or there.
So, what do you guys think of Daybreak and Cthonian, any preferences as to who you'd prefer as a team-mate?

I'm biased (as Cthonian is a lot like my character: Conglomerate) so I'll have to say Daybreak. Plus, an interesting frontliner (scrapper in COH terms). I like his background as well, it seems to have a lot of potential.
