So I just played against this piece at my venue tonight in a 600 Pt Modern Age Game with my Brotherhood Theme Team (Mags, Sabre, Mystique, SWitch SR, Quicksilver SR, Pyro & Bark Beast) in which my opponent rocked a Scientist Theme Team (Professor X, Researcher x4, GSX Beast x2, FCBD Iron Man, Ben Reilly x2 & Mole Man) and the outcome for my team could maybe be summed up by a few choice words: WRECKED, P'WND & FISTED!
Professor sat back in starting area surrounded by 3 out of the 4 Researchers and both Ben Reillys (for X-MEN healing in case of pushing) and I had no answer when I should've gone all out after Professor X and instead chilled in my debris tokens hoping to survive ... no bueno

A Cuckoo will be his best friend for using the X-Men TA. Push him, then use Cuckoo to heal him with the TA when needed to switch between his Outwit and Perplex. She'll gain PC to further help him.
yeah, sending someone in to assassinate the professor is easier said than done. especially when I'm counting on my opponent to do it to the slaughtering can begin...
So I have played against this guy about 3 times and have yet to have had a huge problem with him. Just get over there and kill him. As long as he doesn't hit his senses, no problems. And yes, they will anticipate you to come, but then they have to go on the defense. He is def good, but not broken.
Yes, Xavier is a good fig, but he dies REAL easy & no it's not that hard to do honestly, getting into his starting area & basing him, just use someone w/ HSS as they usually have pretty high movement. Or send Nightcrawler after him. I killed him easy using GSX Cyclops & Emma Frost while Wolverine, Beast & Archangel ate up Psylocke & Gambit/Rogue.
Before you pee, you lift the seat; after you pee, you put the seat back down. Females in tribe start war over this. Many deaths.
I do customs
He can use his trait regardless of how close he is to the target friendly character. If he is in the starting area, then he can use the trait. There is no range or line of sight requirements.
End the debate! Professor X is a game changer. No figure on the map is safe if Professor X is on the map. Yes, you have to roll, but with some extra perplex and prob will make it very easy getting that hit. I played him last night in a nasty little team and only took pushing damage the whole game. Professor X, Metron, Ghost Widow, & Scientist. 397. Not theme due to Ghost Widow but she was more of a tie up piece if you rush on Professor X, you can take her out and add more Scientist and Professor X's damage will go threw the roof along with giving one to Metron. This was played on the Krakoa map too. Another idea, is to play Professor X with a Tker. Tk a keyword partner out, move them or attack with them. Then have professor x shoot from where they are. This if you have the right figures and placement will make no figure save from Professor X's Range. (8 Tk),(10-12 movement 5-6 Running Shot) 8 Range. So basically Professor X can hit anyone from 21-28 spaces away if you wanted too.
Without a doubt one of the toughest characters to deal with. I've only played against him, but unless you get to him quickly, he'll control the board by using his trait to Outwit your characters and pop them for 2 clicks at a time.
say prof x is in the starting area surrounded by shield members. Can he use cebro and attack from a square and use the shield team to boost his values? Or would they have to be next to the character prof is using as a means to attack?
@ ekearsh537. Since SHIELD only requires adjacency and not Line of Sight, then you should be able to use that TA with Prof. X. Researchers work well, too. Use three of each and he's lethal-er.
i used whitney frost (scientist) with lockjaw to do the professors bidding and it worked quite well. i could get just about anywhere on the field to get a shot off. brings me back to pre no attack after carry.
deffinitely abusable, but certainly beatable too. has a glaring weakness against stealth which can be utilized against him, as well as his attack, which isnt bad, but can be difficult to increase when most of his team wont be near him.
using 3 shield and 3 researchers will give him an 11 range and a 5 damage, so feel free to abuse that if you want to get beat up in the parking lot after the game.
