Very disappointed about the 17 def for Phoenix's long-anticipated defend... If it was 18, then the 133 points wouldn't be argued over. How does Jean Grey lose out to Armor and Cable for 18 Defend?
Under rated piece. Granted the Slym and Redd power is pretty useless with the current wording, but that second click is sweet! The super enhance is also extremely useful. Move into position, push to running shot or duo attack and enhance others. After that start attacking non-stop with PB or duo attacks. Unfortunately for this piece it is overshadowed by the new Cyclops with his better damage and trait. But don't discount ranged-flurry with that duo attack.
I would almost rather think of this as Jean as her Phoenix powers are beginning to emerge; she was pretty darn strong at that point so the duo attack as a ranged flurry would sense, if she ever ends up being able to double TK this will be so good. I wish there was a way to just have her on a single base though. Scott's solo fig is just too good to not run it along this one, but then I feel lame for there being two Cyke's on the board :ermm:
We're in the process of adopting our daughter and there is plenty of bureaucratic bs, prayers appreciated.
Pretty darn brutal when played alongside Professor X from this set (big build totals). Played and won a 1000 point tournament today and Professor X & Cyclops/Phoenix never left the starting zone in a single match; the rest of the team just spread out to do their own things and acting as the Professor's eyes and Cyclops/Phoenix got to boost the Professor's psychic blast damage & his AV (plus with new leadership rules they'll be able to keep removing action tokens from the Professor for ADDED cheesy brutality). 133 points sounds like a lot for just standing around, but with their solid AV, decent damage and duo attack they are excellent last line of defense for the Professor, plus, if playing with Nightcrawler also, Nightcrawler can hit people and drag them away into Cyclops/Phoenix's range for a nasty followup attack. GREAT for big builds and definitely the best of the duo SR's in GSX.
Underrated piece. I played them last night, the team was Cyclops/Phoenix, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Beast for 400 on the nose! Storm is an excellent compliment to them with the new leadership AND the enhancement for her. If she's also outside, that's a total of +2 to her damage and +1 attack. Beast is great tie up/outwit, and nothing else needs to be said for nightcrawler to pull his weight.
A bit soft up front defensively, but that 17 can help out some of those Golden Age friends with 16 up front. Protect them from attacks and push next turn. It's key to keep them on that Dmg SP and team them up with some ranged pieces. New Leadership rules make them even more helpful. Great team players.
This is a 4+ figure for me. In the middle of an X-men team with Armor giving defend to these guys, then these guys spreading it to everyone on the team. And thank goodness for the errata so they can use TK without having to use FB now!!! That greatly increased their playability.

Super fun piece! Play w/ GSX LE Archangel, GSX Iceman, and MM lab coat Beast for optimal X-men first class action! They come in just under 400 pts! ENJOY! Also, If you act now, you will get a complimentary set of steak knives for no extra charge!
This is no doubt a very fine piece. However, I REALLY want both of those sculpts on single bases that sport 60-80 point figures. This one duo has the best Cyclops AND the best Jean Gray sculpts we've ever seen.
