But you labeled as damage dealt modifier, and there is a difference between the two.
Edit: look I'm not trying to start an argument here, you may have been looking for a yes or no to your question. But if another player tries to look for the answer, and sees that someone said just yes to objects being damage dealt modifier would lead to playing objects incorrectly. I'm just making sure anyone that looks it up is seeing it correctly.

It actually sounds to me like there is some confusion as to the source of the +2 to damage value and what the source is.
In the last line of the power, it is saying that, regardless of whether you are holding an object or not, you get a +2 to damage if you use the power to attack a wall, object or blocking terrain. So a character with 1 damage value, not holding any object, attacks a wall. That character would automatically receive a +2 to its damage value and be able to deal 3 damage to the wall, which outside of other game effects (such as Structural Integrity Field), would be cause the wall to be destroyed.
I *think* that was added because the rules DO cover what objects do in combat with figures, but might not be clear about what they do to terrain, etc.

I think you are getting a little confused here. The last line of Super Strength, has nothing to do with whether the character is holding an object or not. Super Strength can be 'broken down' into 3 parts, like so:
SUPER STRENGTH When this character moves due to its own action, it may pick up an object and hold it. The object must be either in a square the character occupies or in an adjacent square.
If this power is lost or countered while this character is holding an object, immediately put the object in the square this character occupies.
When this character makes a close combat attack targeting blocking terrain, a wall, or an object, modify its damage value by +2 for the attack.
The character with Super Strength does not need to be holding an object to get the +2 to it's Damage Value, it simply needs to use Super Strength to destroy the wall, object, or blocking terrain.
