Just a quick update to this week's Monsters vs. Aliens game. There have been a couple of keywords added that I missed when I originally posted it. Here are the revised rules:
-(Feb 1st) (400 point "Monsters vs. Aliens" -You may choose to make a team with characters that have any combination of the Monster, Brute, Animal, or Morlocks keywords or you may make a team consisting of characters with any combination of the Apokolips, Badoon, Brood, Covenant, Kree, Kryptonian, New Gods, Shi'ar, or Skrull keywords. Assuming the point requirement is met for theme teams, all characters using option A will be given the generic "Monster" keyword and all characters using the options in the B category will be given the generic "Alien" keyword for this game.
*PM me your email address if you want to be put on our mailing list!
*In an attempt to fit three rounds into every week and still respect people's individual schedules, we ask that everybody be at the store by 6:30 pm every week so that I can get pairings all lined up and have the games start by no later than 7pm. If we do this, we can be done by 10pm without a problem!

-(Feb 8th) 300 point battle of the weaklings (No characters over 50 points allowed). As usual we play "Silver Age" so no figures are retired. I still allow Bystanders, Horde Tokens, and special objects, though.

1) For our venue, do you consider LotR to be allowed for the event?
2) This may be cleared up before the event, but given the new Marvel & DC team abilities posted on Heroclix.com, are these new definitions in effect for our IG2 event? I haven't heard anything on their effective date yet.

1.) The Infinity Gauntlet events are "By the Book" for the most part. The only deviation that I'm allowing is that I consider Fast Forces to be allowed for Floor purposes. This would also mean that Lord of the Rings figures would NOT be considered modern age.
2.) Rules announcements are generally in effect when they become public. As far as the new team abilities and changes to some of the old ones go, I would consider them to be in effect for the game, yes.

It'll be better with you there! Should have a good turnout tonight. Counting you and not myself, we will have at LEAST 5 players. It will probably be closer to 8-10. Groovy!

To bad more players would be nice. Have you been to Friday night games
Lately? I am hoping to go but the wife will be out all weekend for
Mom's night out. There starting the IG games and I have yet to get
In on the gaming.

I went to Got Comics for the past two Fridays. I won't be there this week, though, as I don't want/need any more Hulk packs and already have an Adam Warlock. I don't want to spend money that I don't have to get a prize that I don't need. Plus, it doesn't seem right to possibly take the prize out of somebody else's hands if I already have it. Can't say it will be like that for ALL IG events, but the sealed/payed ones are cost prohibitive enough for me.

I hear you on the cost issue. I have been at my new job over a month
And the pay is comparable, but the tolls went up. So my money left over
Being chewed up by the state.
Any word if and what the costs for galactic going to be at fair games?

No, but you can ask Eric tonight. He said that he can offer some pretty good deals.

Probably come June I'll be able to try out your venue. During the school year there are just too many school and church-related activities on Wed.
Sounds like a fun tourney you're having, tonight. I'd go with a soldier team if I were coming.
Let's Play "Whoizzit?"
My Avatar is an as-yet-un-clixed character. If you know who it is, be the first respondant to correctly identify this character I'll send you some free rep!
In an attempt to keep things fresh and have events posted a month or more in advance, it's time for some new scenarios. Here's what's coming up in March for Fair Game's Heroclix Schedule!
(March 7th) 400 points "Insta-Kills"
Critical Hits automatically KO figure(s) targeted by an attack, Critical Misses automatically KO attacking character. (Support power is not effected by this rule)
(March 14th) 317 points "St. Patrick's Day"
All figures must either be Irish and/or be green. They can also be wearing green, but it must be the dominant color on their costume.
*Please note the odd point total. This will effect theme teams!
(March 21st) 500 points "Bizarro World"
All figures that you play with start on the last click of their dial and as they take damage, turn their dial in the opposite direction (counter-clockwise) so they technically get "Healthier" as they take damage. Using support or regeneration turns the dial backwards (clockwise)
(March 28th) INFINITY GAUNTLET MONTH 3
300 points Modern Age (Everybody gets a Power Gem participation prize. The Champion LE figure is awarded to 1st, 2nd, and Fellowship)
