This game was set up by the previous judge, so I don't want to change things last minute and cofuse anybody. Stay tuned to thiis page for updates and listing for future tournaments/events. I will be trying to post several weeks worth of events in advance so players can properly plan their teams before arrival if they so choose.

This Wednesday (1/25/2012) we're going to get up close and personal with a 500 point Street Brawl game.
The rules:
-All characters must have a ZERO printed range. Special powers/traits that grant a range may not be used. Perplex, Team abilities, or other means of increasing range beyond the zero printed value may not be used. (Giant characters may use giant reach ability as this is technically still a close combat attack)
-No character may use Outwit or Hypersonic Speed. You may have these powers printed on your dial or may be able to gain them through other means, but they cannot be used.
Please feel free to ask further questions if necessary so I can try to address them by Wednesday.

That helps me. I was torn between a better gaming venue (this place has 5 tables set up only for gaming) and a better night, versus the other place that had my brother-in-law and cousin. At least one of you is coming over here, so it helps to tip the scales!

Now we just need to get Tom R. to come on over, and there is NO PROBLEM!

And decent pricing on Clix. That may be the last reason I still regularly show up at Got Comics, well that and seeing how many cheese players show up at Fair Play now that word has spread to all of them.
Good luck with the new Venue. I'd probably try to make it down, but my regular venue in Elgin plays on Wednesday nights.
I haven't been to Got Comics in months either. :-(
Yeah, I didn't add you to the mailing list that I sent out because I know that you already play on Wednesdays in Elgin. If you ever feel like a change of pace or if you don't like the scenario that your venue is doing some week, feel free to stop by, though. If you want me to add you to the mailing list, just let me know.

I want to try to keep about a month's worth of scenarios posted at all times so people have more time to think about their teams and so they can appropriately plan their schedules to make it to games that really interest them. Here is the list of events for February:
-(Feb 1st) (400 point "Monsters vs. Aliens" -You may choose to make a team with characters that have any combination of the Monster, Brute, Animal, or Morlocks keywords or you may make a team consisting of characters with any combination of the Apokolips, Badoon, Brood, Kree, New Gods, Shi'ar, or Skrull keywords. Assuming the point requirement is met for theme teams, all characters using option A will be given the generic "Monster" keyword and all characters using the options in the B category will be given the generic "Alien" keyword for this game.
-(Feb 8th) 300 point battle of the weaklings (No characters over 50 points allowed)
-(Feb 15th) (400 points Lovers Quarrel) -Team must consist of pairs of characters (Duo figures not accepted) that have been romantically linked whether currently or in the past. I will likely bring in a good helping of pairs for people to borrow and/or make a list of acceptable pairs well before hand to help out those that don't have the comic book knowledge that I do. (Added rule: Whenever one half of each pair is KO'd, the other half "Can't live without them" and is KO'd as well)
-(Feb 29th) 500 points "Rise of the Machines" - You may either play with a team consisting of characters that either have the "Robot" keyword or that have Robot, Cyborg, or Machine in their name somewhere, or you may play with characters that have the S.H.I.E.L.D. , Hulkbuster, Soldier, or Police Keywords.

It was asked of me if a Telekinesis or Super Strength attack from range with objects could be used in tonight's game, and I just wanted to make sure that everybody is on the same page. No power, trait, or team ability may be used that would grant some kind of ranged attack. Therefore, no Telekinesis or Super Strength attacks with objects, no Telekinesis may be used to place characters, and Mind Control may still be used, but it is going to be kept at a zero range. The only two effects that I'm going to allow from range is Probability Control and Perplex.

Did someone say Monster keyword? You know what that means for me! I'm bringing my favorite team....that gets stomped on each time I use it, but I don't care because I have sooooooo much fun with it.

Another of my favorite scenarios. Nicely done!

I always struggle with this one. Can you try to find your old post about comic couples?
One question, before it becomes an issue on the day of the event. As the judge, are you going to allow the FF & GF figures to count towards the floor total? Official word is no, but I know some judges have chosen to modify this. It's probably best if we know ahead of time.

Yeah, I'll dig it up and post it here.

As far as I'm concerned, all of these sets are derivitive of the same set. All are 100% legal for the purposes of meeting the floor requirement of the game.
