In comic continuity, I say between Phoenix, Proffessor X, Wolverine, Storm, and Cyclops, the X-Men pretty much have all their bases covered. Phoenix and the prof deal with the likes of Supes and Captain Marvel, while Cyke, Storm, and Wolvie take out the rest. In HeroClix, the X-Men have a waaaayyyy better range of powers than the JLA or Avengers, but that's just my opinion.
Force of the universe versus alien, I'm giving it to the force of the universe.
is it just me or did you think the X-men got the better of the avengers in the ultimate war. and remember, the avengers *or ultimates or whatever) suprise attacked them. Colosus whopped up on thor and Iron man.
Professor X was betrothed and is soul mate of Lilandra, leader of the Shi'ar. With Lilandra backing the world's most prominent leader in all things psychic... as well as the cosmic pheonix force... the X-men have a good chance of fending off most foes.
Humm, mind reading huh? Lilandra eh? The Shi'ar?
they can back the X-men all they want
Then I guess Thor might have to call a few of his relatives and friends from Asgard. I do believe they are called ... GODS!
And heck, why not let Hercules do the same with his pals from Olympus. Let me see ... yup that would be more Gods.
Lilandra and the Shi'ar, lol. You really walked into that one with both eyes closed huh?
Mind reading? Mind read all you want freaks, and aliens. I really think it would make for a good show before the Avengers and two different armies of ... get this, GODS! wipe their A$$ with you.
Mind reading, d@mn that's tight. maybe you could take out Starfox, Wasp and Ant-Man before the heavens fall.

Everywhere you look, there's a freaking Monkey doing his business!
The x-men are much better in the comics then in clix wolverine can charge and regenerate much better in comics then he ever could in clix
Cyclops was good in close and ranged combat
jean gray could do phsycic blasts
and pheonix could beat firelord(nuff said)
Originally posted by DoomX Someone mentioned that the JLA has no BCF, true but eventually they will have a few more people besides Arthur Curry and Superman with Close Combat Expert. a much more reliable (and therefore better in my opinion) power.
Someone mentioned that X-Men have better movies than any DC people. Did you somehow miss the first two Batman movies? The third was even pretty good, while the 4th was yes trash. X-Men the movies wasn't all that great, in fact it was almost bad. But it was fun.
Actually, though I liked the Batman movies they weren't all that...
Killing the Joker, bad precedent...Batman NEVER kills...goes against everything he is, gritty movie hero or no...
Catwoman with her ridiculous nine lives carp?
Two Face basically being badly dressed muscle? He's supposed to be tortured as is Bats since he was a close friend...
Riddler was Ok, but just a little silly in his over the top comic craziness...
The fourth one was utter garbage...
As was the last two Superman movies...the first two were pretty good..though a little too Pre Crisis for me...

For the most part they lost...
incapacitated three members...captured a fourth...
the rest escaped...
Ultimates didn't lose a single member...though Thor and Iron man were pretty messed up...
And the Ultimates are seriously downgraded for the most part...whereas the X-men, specifially Colossus and Iceman are seriously boosted.
Cquinn: this is a X-men vs Avengers fight, not any X-men vs. the avengers and all of their godly friends they know.
I think all you guys are really underestimating Prof. X's ability. He can read your thoughts and then if he wanted to he could take it over. Thor is now working for the X-Men. Wait now Captain America is to. Also he could just put a telepathic block in your mind, sending you into a coma until he removes it. Wasp isen't to powerful when she cant move.
The Avengers, are we talking the current Avengers, or every one who has been an Avenger. I mean there have been so many incarnations of both the Avengers and the X-men that we need to be more specific in whos on each team. If were doing a battle of every Avenger ever, vs. every X-man ever, that would be a good fight. Of course Magneto would be on the X-man because he has teamed up with them on numerous occations, and Magneto could kill all the Avengers with a swipe of his hand by sending all of the iron thats in the blood stream, straight into the brain. Instant KO.
As long as we are going with comic continuity...lets not forget that Prof. X erased Magnetos mind completely (for a while anyway). It's kinda hard to fight when there is nothing up there...
yea in clix x-men would smash jla and avenger chracter with the new xplosion that came out there are so many x-men charcters beast storm they would beat the hell out of anyone
with the 3 new X-men taxis, and support that the Avengers and JLA don't have, in addition to the ability to swap clicks the X-men have a distinct advantage in life.
Where Avengers and JLA come out ahead is with the free movement, they have an extreme amount of mobility with that power.
If Nightcrawler were so inclined he could teleport with say a sword in his hand and that sword could then end up inside of anyone of the Avengers' head. He could also teleport a piece of someone away (ala Nimrod for you peeps in the know) and Nightcrawler is one of the weaker X-Men. Kitty could do the same thing that Vision pulls with semi-solidifying her hand in someone's chest or head. Any one those two could get close enough to could be handled by Xavier or Phoenix.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.
