A good friend of mine recently became a grandfather again. His youngest daughter gave her new son 2 middle names - Wayne and Grayson.
Does she have a kindly butler or a billionaire crimefighter lined up as secondary caregivers? Because putting those two names together really kind of ramps up the orphan factor. I'd advise her against wearing pearl necklaces or working without a net.
I am a big advocate that if you are going to give your kid a really weird name make it the middle one. If they love it they'll own it. If they hate it they'll just use the initial.
"When the going gets weird, the weird go pro." - Hunter S. Thompson"
"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
We've come up with a boy and a girl name we like so far. We are really hoping for a boy though.
Loki James Thanos A.
Emma Jean Frost A.
We did not choose Loki for its Marvel connections, we are just really into Norse mythology. Emma Jean is cool because Jean is a family name so its got double awesome. James is indeed Howlette, as I am a huge Logan fan but don't like Logan much as a name.
It seems corny indeed, but we have been going over names for years and these seem to be fitting.
That's awesome. My wife and I decided to name our kid Loki for the same reasons, if we ever have one.
I don't usually say such things, but... Emma Frost? Do you want her to be a stripper?
I think it's nice to leave the name at least somewhat ambiguous. No need to add in the last name. You'll know where the name came from without "forcing" anything on the kid.
We literally used the Marvel/DC Encylopedia's as our baby name books (so weird second time they have come up today in a thread).
Landed on Reed as in Richards. He loves knowing the connection to Mr Fantastic as off now( he's 3 and a half and is completely in love with everything super hero just like me and mom) not sure if he'll tell his friends when he is older though. lol

Also being someone into Norse mythology and history in general, Loki is a terrible name for a kid, even as a middle name.
It's like naming your kid Satan. Loki is ultimately responsible for the end of the world and the destruction of almost all life.
While variations on Thor have proven quite popular over the years, if you want to use a Nordic name I would suggest picking any number of great names. We picked Anna for our daughter and Erik for our son as an example. We wanted some Northern European names as I am a bit of a history nut and love medieval history, but I would never name my son Gawain, Tancred, or Bohemond (favorite people/myths). That would just be cruel to my son.
Be extremely careful with your child's name, picking anything too wierd or unusual will see them picked on without mercy. I went to school with a Nicholas Nicholas Nicholas and a Quicksilver Silverson. Don't do that to your kid, it isn't making them out as unique or cool, it's like saying you hate your kid and want them to be made fun of.
Oh, and Russians also commonly have about a half dozen names as well. Seriously, read Russian literature, you need a score card to tell the Piotrs/Peters apart.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Also, just being a stickler here, but if you want to name a kid "Loki" out of interest in Norse mythology, then you really want to name him "Loke" with an "e". That's how we spell it
And as prevalent as Norse names are here in Scandinavia, I can promise you that "Loke" is still *extremely* rare as a name, mainly due to the problems and associations that Maniac pointed out.
For myself (having no kids yet, but hoping to someday), I've always liked the name Gregory for a boy, especially considering that my last name is Helms (yes, I know, that would be a Wrestling reference, but c'mon, close enough!).
For a girl, I'm leaving more towards Talia

There are plenty of comic names that can be fit in for about any location/setting:

Steven Rogers Sourdiesel

Selina Kyle Sourdiesel
Alan Scott (one of my favorite characters of all time!) Sourdiesel
Groot Sourdiesel
Gharskygt Heimdall Sourdiesel
You could be at the crossroads I am at with my wife though. I am a military history nerd, and I have always wanted a son Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Hoffman (or just cut out the Lawrence). My wife, a big Twilight fan, threatens to use Twilight names if I don't compromise.
My oldest son is named Alec, after the "Alec" comics/character by Eddie Campbell. As a secondary bonus, also Alec Holland (Swamp Thing), another favorite.

Egads - so the kid's going to be named after the savior of Gettysburg or a creepy vampire/werewolf stalker? Given the choice, I know which one *I* would rather be named after...
