1.) Colossus picks up the LO from under Wolverine at I12 and runs to J05.
Story:
"Hey Colossus if you can clear me a path I might be able to move in and get a shot on that thing before it can get away." Colossus looked around to find the easiest path for
his smaller comrade.
"Yes, I see a way for you to go. Follow me, I will clear the way." Colossus barreled forward through the broken wall grabbing a small piece to take along just in case Scott couldn't
get a shot off.

2.) Cyclops will Running Shot to L09 targeting Gorilla-Man. 9 onto a 15, needs a 6. Rolls: 3,6= 9 for a hit dealing 4 for the KO. Scott gets 4xp for the damage, and 2
for the KO netting 6xp.
Story:
"Perfect. I'm coming down now." Scott jumped down off the lip and landed in a roll to take away the impact. He came out of the roll and took two quick steps lining up the shot as he went. One quick optic blast dropped the Gorilla beast to the ground. It seemed they had won. It all was just a bit too easy though.. Scott felt as though something wasn't quite right about this lab.

Quickest game I've played in a while.

That's all she wrote. The Astonishing X-Men wipe out the meager resistance that The Genengineer could muster, and Cyclops amasses a ridiculous 34xp! That's gotta be some kind of record! lol

Yeah, me too lol it feels like the games I play against Melkhor in the HCFL and PBP Supremacy League. We could pump out a game in like an hour and a half. This one was so short because there were only 6 turns :/ Cyclops basically came in and laid down the hammer.

Scott looked around, taking in the shattered room. It seemed as though they were in the main laboratory of the complex. The walls were lined with banks of monitors displaying static or broken entirely, separated by opened cell doors. Along the walls were several different intricate lab instruments set at regular intervals. He noticed, with a bit of embarrassment, that most of the equipment had been damaged by his overpowered optic blast leveled at the Genengineer.

"Rise and shine, bub. It's your lucky day. I didn't find you alone..." Wolverine's words ended in a long low growl. The Genengineer tried to speak but found a boot against his neck crushing him to the floor, and all that came out was a garbled cough.

Scott heard the exchange. Apparently the Genengineer hadn't been killed after all. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not for the man. I guess I should intervene here... If he was honest with himself though, he almost wished that Logan would kill the man before he could stop him.

"Wolverine, let him go!" Scott walked over and attempted to shove Logan aside for all the good it did.

"Colossus, Logan needs some fresh air. Would you be so kind as to assist him?"

"Of course. I was just thinking that the air was getting a bit stuffed in to the room." Colossus walked over to Wolverine who didn't seem to even register the conversation. With his adamantium skeleton Wolverine weighed quite a bit more than any other person of his stature, but that didn't really matter for the steel giant. Colossus picked him up with one arm and tossed him spitting and cursing out the busted wall then followed out into the yard himself. Scott gave a little laugh at the sight. He really did love to see Logan get worked up.

He looked down at the Genengineer squirming on the floor and had a thought.

"Kitty, Hank, could you two to check the computers and see if there is any salvageable data left. Try not to go too far out of the main lab though. There might be more of these freaks lurking around the complex. I'll stay here and see if I can get any useful information from our host here." Scott looked back down at the Genengineer with an unreadable expression, "and he really, REALLY, wants to cooperate with me."

"I might not be able to keep Logan away from you when he gets past the big guy outside," Cyclops told the cracked surgeon.

Shanna walked over holding a long hunting knife. "Red Eye, this man falls to jungle law. You have no say here." She looked over to Scott, who was actually a bit worried, and gave a quick wink. She looked down sternly at the Genengineer, and faster than either Scott or the Genengineer could react, stabbed her knife into the concrete floor and inch from the terrified man's right ear. "You talk small man. Or jungle law come swiftly." With that she stood up abruptly and walked over to where Hank was inspecting some machinery.

The Genengineer felt a shudder run the length of his spine.. or was that urine?

After the initial shock of the explosion and being hurled across the room, Bud had managed to gather his wits enough to leave the main lab. Thankfully without being noticed as the X-Men charged in, too.

It seemed like the fighting had died down rather quickly. He could only hear one voice yelling now, more of a long sustained growl really, but it seemed to be coming from outside instead of the main lab. Above all else, Bud was a survivor, and he was determined to see himself out of this place alive.

He was confident he could lose them in the jungle, if only he could get past the group standing in the main lab! "Damn it all..." He needed more time, but one of the group had left the lab and was headed his way. It was the young phantom girl. She was distracted while she tried to search the wrecked machines, and an idea sprang into Bud's mind. Without a second thought, he sprang out from shadows covering her mouth with one hand and holding a knife to her throat with the other.

"If you squeal I will kill you, and don't try to phantom away either. If you do I will trigger the lab's self destruct, and bring this godforsaken place down on all of our heads. Wouldn't want all that, now would we?"

Kitty never even thought about screaming for help. She knew that no one could get to her in time. She could call the bluff and try to phase away, but what if it wasn't a bluff? What if he really could remotely trigger a self destruct? It was certainly possible, she had rigged one up herself for a jewelry box at home. If it was just her she could just phase away self destruct or not, but with the rest of the team in the building too she couldn't risk it.

Bud sensed that he had her convinced, "Here's what's going to happen..."

FWOOSH!

A purple streak zipped past Kitty and slammed into Bud's face! Kitty screamed in surprise, and the man reeled back under a flurry of biting teeth and slashing claws. Kitty immediately phased out, forgetting about Bud's threat, and ran back toward the lab. Kitty could hear loud screeching behind her and looked back to see a plume of flame consume the man who had threatened her.

Wolverine was charging at Colossus again, for the fourth time, when he stopped mid stride and cocked an ear toward the lab, "You hear that? Sounded like the kid's scream."

"You will not distract me so easily, Logan. I may have been a simple farmer, but..." Peter stopped mid sentence. He had heard something too. It wasn't Kitty. It sounded like one of the creatures they had fought earlier.

"Out'a the way, bub. There's real fightin' to do." Wolverine sprinted past the big man and leaped back into the lab with Peter hot on his heels.

Kitty phased through the lab wall, and saw Wolverine and Colossus headed her way at full speed. "There was another man in the hallway! He attacked me, but..."

Colossus didn't need to hear anything else. Without breaking stride, or veering off to use the door, he barreled straight through the lab wall and into the hallway beyond.

But it was empty.

Logan came around from the door and walked forward sniffing the air. "Smoke on the air, blood stains and scorch marks here on the floor and wall." That didn't fit. Kitty's phasing ability didn't cause burning. "Hey kid, what happened out here?"

"I, I... there was something that attacked him. Something saved me, I don't know..." Thinking back now, she didn't remember exactly what had happened. Where HAD the fire come from?

CRACK

The walls around Colossus' newest breech point had collapsed, and the ceiling fell in. The big Russian turned around a bit sheepishly, "Oops.."

"We need to get out of here. Between you and Slim you'll have this place coming down around our ears before too long." Wolverine just shook his head and walked back down the hall. Peter followed with Kitty actually using a door for the first time since arriving at the complex.

"Scott. Scott, this is Charles. I need your team back at the mansion immediately."

"Professor?" This wasn't the first time Cyclops had communicated with the professor mentally, but it still seemed like his mind was playing tricks on him. "Professor, is that you? We're in the Savage Land. We've caught the Genengineer, and I'm questioning him now. We'll head back as soon as we finish up here."

"NO." The force of the mental shout almost sent Scott to his knees, "Leave him with Ka-Zar, and Shanna. They will figure out what is to be done. I need you at the mansion as soon as you can get here. We might have trouble with Eric tonight, and I..."

"Eric.. Magneto? Professor what about Magneto? Profe.. Aaaaaaah!" Scott got slammed by a psychic backlash that actually did drop him to his knees. He had never felt pain so intense in his life.

Scott fought through the pain and forced himself to speak, "Hank, leave everything. We have to get back to the mansion now. Something is wrong with the professor. He mentioned Magneto."

Logan walked through the door just in time to hear 'Magneto', "What about that metal bendin' sociopath?"

"I don't know. The professor contacted me, but he was cut off before he could finish. I think there's trouble at the mansion."

"Well what are we standin' around for? Let's go!" Logan started for the impromptu front door, but half way there he caught a wiff of something... "Oooh wait a minute. We ain't takin' wet pants over there with us? I don't know if I can handle that all the way back. I can just deal with him now..." *Snickt*

"No Logan." Scott looked over to Shanna, "Would you and your husband be willing to deal with him?"

"Yes. He will meet jungle law." Shanna walked over and lifted the smaller man with one arm. As soon as he caught his balance she slugged him with a hard right cross that promptly dropped him back to the floor unconscious. She looked around at the stares of amazement aimed at her. "Easier to carry." She hoisted her new prisoner and led the team back out the broken wall.

Cyclops was the last one to make the tree line outside the complex, and he stopped with a thought. "Hold on a second guys. I want to make sure no one else can use this place again."

He stepped back out clear of the trees, closed his eyes, and removed his visor.

When the group reached the Blackbird Ka-Zar was sitting on a wing with Zabu looking back out over the trees at a rising pillar of black smoke. Shanna strode forward and dropped her prisoner roughly to the ground. Ka-Zar also dropped to the ground, albeit much more gracefully, and had a few quick words with his wife before coming over to Scott.

"I apologize Red Eye. I judged you wrongly. Many thanks for ridding my home of these evil men. My wife says this man is the one responsible."

Scott looked over toward the Genengineer lying prone in the dirt. He almost felt sorry for the man, almost. "Yes, he has committed countless crimes against human and mutant kind. He has been captured in your land, and as such, must face punishment under your laws. Whatever that may be. I wish we could stay, but we have an urgent matter to deal with at home."

"Say no more, Red Eye. I understand. If you come to Savage Land again, know you come as a friend to Ka-Zar."

The X-Men loaded the Blackbird and took off over the trees and set course for the mansion. Hopefully they wouldn't be too late.
