sorry snake eyes, gotta rep my boy Edwin! (hope he doesn't run off in the offseason to your bosox, though, granite moose)
Well, all I know is that Papi was lobbying for him to be signed by the Sox pretty hard during the year.
That was a great game to watch, but I wouldn't have wanted to be a fan of either team during it because it would have been a roller-coaster of emotions.
Well, we made the playoffs . . . for one brief shining moment. Next year, Orioles!
By the way, that beer-can throw was unworthy of the great city of Toronto. Fan, be fans; let the players play the game.
I think the home field advantage was key for this game. It could very well have gone the other way had this been in Baltimore.
And I agree about that fan. But it's also sad that all the other fans in that section thought it was fine to just let that idiot leave without keeping them around for security.

my guess is that the guy ran down a bit to chuck the beer, and then ran away before anyone really understood what he was doing.... I've seen it happen before with idiots, though first time i've ever seen something hit the field of play.
as polite as most canadians are, we (unfortunately) have our share of miscreants as well. at least he's been identified, and should be taken care of up north.
Well that was a bloodbath in Texas!! I thought it would be a close series but Texas obviously needs a big win today and it won't be easy facing Happ. I can easily see Toronto going home with a 2-0 lead and if that's the case, it's not coming back to Texas.
I don't know what happened in the 3rd inning of the Bos/Cle game but man did that get away quickly. Huge key for Cleveland was the damage control in the 1st inning. Lead off double then single and Boston only got one run. Had to be a huge morale boost as that could have been ugly quick. Now the Sox have to hope that Price has solved his playoff woes.
Have to give a huge tip of the hat to our old friend Francona for managing the bullpen like a master. Bringing Miller in in the 5th inning was absolutely the right thing to do even if it could very easily have gone south if he hadn't been able to retire Papi. However, what if's don't mean anything and Miller did retire Papi and Cleveland won a big first game.

Great analysis! So much of playoff baseball is turning the other team's diamonds into dungheaps.
Wow, another great game by our Jays, and poor David price, that was not a fun way for him to get back into the playoffs.
Feels like the low scoring is going to be normal for the Giants and cubs, though I have to admit I'm pulling for the Giants a bit more.
Sox are done but still had a good last place to first place turnaround. Not sure what happened to the team in the playoffs though. Certainly, Cleveland outplayed the Sox in nearly every aspect of the game but it was disappointing that they never really felt in control of any game. Oh well, such is the enigma of postseason ball. Congratulations to Cleveland and their fans but I don't know that advancing to face the blazing-hot Jays is any reward. Good luck with that as they seem to be clicking on all cylinders right about now.
Dodgers are now hoping that Kershaw doesn't pull a Price and disappear in a big playoff game as they need him and some creativity to come back against the Nats.
Thought for sure that the Cubbies had swept the series after Arrieta homered off of Bumgarner but they managed to lose that game. They really need to finish it off now without extending to a game 5 or all the ghosts will come back. Trust me as a Sox fan, I know where you are right now Cubs fans. Just remember to breathe; eventually it will be all right.
Looking at my predictions is pretty humbling right now, not that I expected to guess well. Got both Wild Card games right and should have stopped right there. Cleveland spanked the Sox and the Jays crushed Texas. Neither series really was close. The Sox had closer scores but if you watched the games, they never really seemed as close as they might have seemed.
Don't think the Dodgers are going to make a comeback even if they do push to a game 5. I still think the Cubs have it but nobody in Chicago should feel comfortable if it goes to a game 5.
Still enjoying the heck out of playoff baseball. Hey,scehaono, still partying?
I'm not surprised the Tribe swept Boston. Boston ended the season poorly and it continued into the playoffs.
Cleveland, man! Between the Cavs and the Indians, I wonder what dark rituals have been furtively performed at City Hall at midnight of the new moon . . .
Went to bed before the game ended last night but not surprised that LA ended up winning. Even when the Nats had the lead, it just had the feel of another loss for them. Can't explain why, but just seemed to be in the cards.
Tonight will be interesting to see if the Jays have cooled off any during their layoff or if they are going to continue their postseason beatdown.
Still feel that Chicago is going to advance from the other side and even though Cleveland dispatched the Sox fairly easily, I'm thinking the Jays are going to advance and make for an interesting World Series.
So, I feel the term "must-win game" is overused, but this seems like a must-win for Toronto tonight. I don't see how they overcome a 3-0 deficit. And based upon games 1 and 2, they better get to Bauer because Cleveland's bullpen has been outstanding.
Looks like Kershaw can pitch in the postseason. I joke because small sample size deductions always drive me mad and comparing 17 postseason stats to 265 regular season stats is small sample size no matter how you try and couch your comments. Looks like this series could be pretty interesting.
