Hmm. I've seen one other Horus duelist use it, and it can be a dangerous card, though the benefits are worth it. The card advantage is bad, but the search power and deck thinning is great. In addition, there will be times when Horus Lv 4 won't come for an entire duel. I always would try to remember that the reshuffling opportunities Masked Dragon gives me is another chance at geting Horus Lv 4 next draw, but sometimes they don't come through.
And besides, with Wave Motion Cannon and Royal Decree, that's tempting enough for the opponent to use their S/T destruction. But I'll try it anyway for a Stamping Destruction and see how it works. If it works out, then I'll put it in.
There's some tech I'm been trying to work with, and they seem to be effective:
Swords of Conceiling Light (SoCL)
Different Dimension Capsule
Until I can get an enemy controller, SoCL is fairly good (a) for stalling and (b) for killing those weak defense monsters. The problem I run into are duelists who use many FLIP monsters.
DD Capsule has worked well for getting the cards I need out of the bottom of the deck, but out it has already happened where it was destroyed while on the field, so that will have to be a problem to contend with.
Right now, I'm sticking with SoCL until I see a major flaw with running it.
Drillroid is, of course, stronger, so he has that advantage, but otherwise, my main threats are face downs, so Mystic Swordsman would be better. I'll just switch between the two.
And other DD Assailant would be ideal, but it would be hard to find room, so I'll see what I can do (might have to take out a spell).
nice deck!by the way,i LOVE the title.black fire..........it just looks so cool........anyway onto the deck.i have always wanted to face one of these horus/royal decree lockdowns.it looks awesome!the only thing is,i dont know why i dont like the element dragon thing...but if it works for you, then its fine with me.
The great thing about Element Dragon is that since there is so much FIRE and WIND, Element Dragon just takes advantage of them. In addition, Element Dragon is expendable. If you think about it, having expendable cards, while at the same time being effective when the right conditions are out, is a good for an opening move or for putting in defense position when defense is needed. And it's searchable.
Had to have some in the deck. And if needed they are good candidates for replacement when I need to go in my side deck.
There is only one thing that I can think of to fix.
- Creature Swap
+ Level Up!
The reason for this being. I know that you use the Creature Swap for Masked Dragon, but how often is it pulled off? Both cards are horrible topdecks. However, with the only way to get 8 is to attack, you run the risk of it getting destroyed by traps or monster effects. It would still have the same amount of speed, the difference is, is that you are getting LV8 instead of an opponent's monster for free.
One more thing, but not sure what to remove. Try to find spots for Divine Wrath.

Actually, I use Creature Swap for many reasons besides that:
-Scapegoat so Horus Lv 4/6 can kill one.
-Masked Dragon as you said
-Sangan
-So I can get their monster I want
-After Spear Dragon attacks (when I used to run cards like Hammer Shot)
Creature Swap can pretty much be used with anything in my deck. Level Up, on the other hand, can only be used with Horus, so it's a worse topdeck.
I tried it earlier anyway to see how it worked, but I found Creature Swap to be more annoying for my opponent.
Horus Lv 8 doesn't come out too often, but when it does, it pretty much is a game over against whoever I play here in North Florida because they forget its effect for some odd reason. (unless it's against a warrior toolbox).
Not everyone, Reuben.....You should know that I know this deck's power and abilities all too well.
On the subject of using My Body as a Shield, it won't work on the D.D monsters (Assailant, Warrior, and/or Warrior Lady) as it doesn't destroy the Horus LV8. It's easiest target would be Exiled Force. Of course there's the occasional Cyber Jar and/or Night Assailant but that's only when it's Flip Summoned.
The build you have however isn't bad though slightly different. The idea for Different Dimension Dragon is actually an excellent move since Smashing Ground doesn't target and thus would get burned out if D.D Dragon is the highest defender and there's what, doubles and triples of it being run?? In addtiton, there would only be 4 monsters in the S.C.A.M deck to actually get it off the field (Cyber Dragon, Mobius, Exiled, and DDWL) so selecting that was actually a good move...
I see you took some thought into this deck though you do have to consider what to do against the Mirror Match (which would be me, of course)
add in another decree.. and add in 2x wicked flame boau.. and a couple of that card where your opponent draws 2 and you get your horus lvl 8 back:)
Level Modulation is the WORST CARD EVER for the Horus family....In a meta where advantage is EVERYTHING, giving your opponent 2 free cards just so you can bring back a monster that CAN'T ATTACK or APPLY its EFFECT is pitiful.
It's like saying, "If I let you draw 2 extra cards, can I bring back my monster as long as it doesn't attack you??" Level Modulation basically gives your opponent more of an advantage than you do...

I just had to put it in, especially since it is one of my favorite dragons. And I never thought about adding in my Body. After SJC- Atlanta, I realized it's not as cracked up to be.

3 is not necessary since I find my 2 to be bad enough topdecks. Flamberg - Baou is a good idea. Never got around to it though. Level Modulation... no, not at all. The opponent drawing will hurt. Pot of Avarice is better for this. That's why that's a super rare and Level Mod is a common. But thanks for the advice and the review.
Well I agree witht the second DD Assailant, but I don't own 2.
Four Horus Lv 6/8 and 1 Lv 4, to me, is a bad idea because (a) topdecking issues (b) bad drawing issues (c) 1 Horus Lv 4 to level up.
Spirit Reaper is a card I do like. I'll definitely side it, so when I find the need for it, I'll main deck it.
Sorry, I'm not a fan of GK Spy in decks not utilizing them to their fullest (which this deck won't).
Most people do tell me the same thing, to get rid of my Element Dragons. I may get around to it in more competitive play. But for recreation purposes, they are fun to have when Spear/Luster and Horus are on the field.
