And in case there's any doubt on whether or not Det. Zombies qualify as attackers, I was able to kill a heavy ST (army) with this army, largely with the help of the ** det (2 SWs). (NOTE: Heavy ST is NOT a good matchup due to that fact that one indirect fire shot can kill the graverobber, so the ST MUST be tied up immediately.) Naturally you have to throw the kitchen sink in to block, and the trick is doing it in under 50 minutes.
I have trouble believing that a OST with good support would have much trouble dealing with zombie toss. As you said, the support is very glass jawed and you would not be able to toss enough at the OST before your key figures were busted. What comprised the rest of the OST army you beat?
If you didn't base the OST with a zombie (which seems to be the case since you SWed it) how was the OST tied up? If you did manage to tie it up by basing it, did it miss a 2+ breakaway. If this is the case, this is hardly a good example of how this army can deal with OST.
And on the issue of swarm v FL... with a 12" move and good blocking, swarm can easily deal with 12" ranged FL. Borg's swarm charge eats zombie / bone toss alive. I know because I use it extensively as a playtest army against any new army I create. If you had a scorpem yo-yo in there then you may have a claim of being able to FL the swarm charge. Since you do not, I think you would have a very hard time getting off that shot. Even with the yo-yo, a good SC player can minimize the damage you can do with that one FL shot you will get.
I'll PM you details. Like I said, it's hardly possible to beat ST with zombie toss. The point I was making was that it is wrong to not count Detonating Zombies as attackers.
