Those stats frighten me; Submerged?! Can you say "Death to support figures"? That sounds like a very fun figure. I have one question, are you going to paint it? I guess blue would be good for a dragon that submerges, but I would still like to see it with some uber-sweet paintjob, maybe a greenish-blue since it also infiltrates, or you could go red and make it flambouyant(spelling?) :p. Anyway, try and post some pics once you are finished, I will be looking forward to it.
Well, Here’s an Idea for an Otyugh, one of my favorite monsters.
Its base is a little smaller that the titans… but bigger than normal, so I figured to just make him a titan.
Besides… he’s totally sweet.
Name: Otyugh (I can’t get myself to change the name… too cool)
Range 5
Num Range Attack: 3 (one for each arm)
Range Damage: 2
Dial Number: 1
Front Arc: 270
Faction: Mage Spawn
Rarity: Exclusive (converted)
Rank: Standard
D = Dead
St = Stealth
Si = Smite
Sw = Sweep
Ve = Venom
Pa = Parry
Ts = Toughness
Dg = Dodge
Cb = Crushing Blow
Iz = Immobilize
Point Cost: Help me out here
Ancient: ?
Mature: ?
Young: ?
Basically, this monster’s quite the beast. It’s really tough, but has weaknesses. It dies off 2 clicks
earlier than most titans, has short range (though with 3 attacks for 3 arms), and has lower damage
than most titans. Plus magic range attacks really hurt it.
On the other hand… it’s got a bunch of SA’s.
Movement: It’s got one click of Stealth for each of his 3 starting clicks. Basically the idea is that an
Otyugh hides in caves and stuff until someone comes close... and then its mayhem.
Attack: It starts out with Smite… I just HAD to give the Otyugh Smite. I dunno… it just fits it.
(picture a large tentacle splatting someones head like a pancake). Moves on to sweep which also makes sense.
Venom across most of the dial, part of it from the Nexus… basically this dude secretes poison constantly.
The Parry at the end just signifies that it’s tough to finish this thing off. (plus again it makes sense with his arms.)
Defense: Toughness for a long while to relate with the Otyugh’s tough Hide. Dodge on the first click, this thing can squirm.
And Also dodge on his last 3 clicks along with terrify.
Damage: Crushing Blow for some swinging arms, and later on Immobilize for when the Otyugh tries to hold
its prey close, helplessly being poisoned to death. Mwhahaha.
Basically a Melee machine, that has a shorter life than most titans… but doesn’t die easily. Very susceptible to range,
so stay back and fire away at it. Also very susceptible to Magic attacks (shield defense).
This is open for suggestions and such, as I am not a veteran or anything with this. I tried to give it some weaknesses
such as short range, shorter life span, and lower damage than normal, but if it needs to be taken down another notch…
maybe I could remove crushing blow or make it’s movement a little slower
(maybe just take away the 7’s). I’m probably a little eager… since I love these beasts.
Anyways. comments are welcome.
ooook.. for some reason i was thinking 20 clicks for titans rofl... well, maybe that evens it out a bit then, I could keep it at 16 clicks of life. Which is probably good... keep the power dial as it is, and have it be less points maybe. Or I can modify it a bit.
greenish-blue is a good color for Behir conversion, Discordian. Yup, I'll do some paint job & the stats. I think I'll have to make the dial manually. Just got my package w/ some D&D huge figures & some MK Siege pack. I'll get the conversion started.:D
Your conversion is also nice, couch. I may suggest the following point values:
Otyugh

Indeed a very nice idea. That's why I took it the moment this whole thing started. Just add some modifications & paint job to the converted figs. Then the stats & dials.:D

Actually, they're just estimations. I compared the point values of existing Titans to the converted ones. Their stats, abilities & how playable they are.
That's why I'm also looking for somebody to help me w/ the calculations. Meanwhile, the said point values above are just tentative, & will be carry over if nothing else comes at hand..:D
ok i just finished making the custom dial for FLS (it took me almost 4 hours). i decided to make so changes, tho. I think he should be :aquatic: instead of :hspeed: , otherwise he wont be able to move too far away when he starts submerged. and on his 6th click he also has the submerged sa nexus instead of infiltrate (cuz imo that sa sucks). now i only need to buy the Behir mini from ebay and give it a new paint job. this will be my fav titan.
Originally posted by ORCRAID How did you make the custom dial? 'Coz I really find it so difficult. thanx:D
i followed TrollKnight's advice: in the MWResources webpage there is a downloadable template for MW minis. I just made the circle bigger (the titan size), add more slot (rotate and stuff) and finally add the special abilities. Doing the nexus abilities was a pain in the ###, tho. i think i did it ok. if you want i can email you the FLS dial.
Btw, I agree w/ your changes, that would add a lot. As soon as the other huge figs from D&D that I've bought will arrive, I'll get to work for our next conversion. I also need some suggestions.:D LMK.
