Do you think it will still be possible to get a Barry Bonds in a booster? Didn't they have the product packaged when they decided to pull him from the set? You can still get his promo but only thru auctions.
So if you find a level 5 or 6 figure in your booster case does that figure replace one of the possible 12 uniques you may find in the case, or are those chase figures in addition to the 12 possible uniques?
N066 is Sammy Sosa's unique figure which should have a unique sculpture. B021 is Sosa's blue based level 5 chase figure, which may share the same sculpt as Adam Dunn. I guess they wanted to keep the unique sculptures even unique for the same player.
I just received an e-mail from an eBay seller who had opened up 5 cases. He said the blue figures were 2/case and he did get 1 red figure (ARod) from the 5 cases. He also said the unqiues were about 16 per case, but that he wasn't able to complete a full set even after opening 5 cases. Although this is only a small sampling, it's enough to give a decent idea of what to expect.
I am coming from the perspective of a heroclix fan, but consider U's aren't different stat wise, and LE's are obtainable in boosters, this is rather dumb....they could have made the U's and up slightly better than the regular ones.....they'd still be pointed higher.....why use them really? Different scults only? That's certainly cool, but I'd expect more.
For LE's, they could always have legendary players....maybe a Babe Ruth LE? Maybe I am nuts.
I believe the Uniques are better players that are not available as a Lvl 1-3. That being said there are good players in the common rarities as well so you can get some decent players on a limited budget.
You can't make player's with different stats like you do in Heroclix for one reason. The players stats are based on their actual 2003 MLB stats. Because this is a game based on reality and just one year, you can't have two or three of a different player with different stats, it wouldn't give realistic results. You will get a different version of that player in next years edition based on his 2004 MLB stats I would guess, but it can't really be done in the same set UNLESS they decided to make them based on career to date stats or something along those lines. I would guess those might end up in a separate set as well though.
Hey there everybody. Pretty new to Sportsclix, but love 'em. I've been buying all of my stuff on eBay, boosters and individuals. I may not know as much as a lot of you, but I do know (thanks to draddog's article which I first found on Wizkidsgames.com) that level 1s are NOT super rare, but a few people on eBay try to pass them off as such. I've seen listings with titles like "Sportsclix Angel Berroa #A025 SUPER RARE!!!" (I pick on Berroa because in addition to getting him in the starter set I've pulled four extras from boosters, the most of any dupe I've gotten.) I've learned to stay away from eBay sellers who tell you, either out of ignorance or deception, that a) level 1s and 2s are SUPER RARE or b) level 5s and 6s can only be obtained via tournament wins. If you know what to look for on eBay (and what constitutes a red flag of a bad seller), bargains can be had there by the dozens.
