I think its bad because one of the things that attracted me to VS. was that besides Savage Beatdown most of the cards were cheap which was a welcome change from yugioh and when I really got in the game Savage Beatdown wasn't such a needed card anymore now most of the decks I would like to build require a set of Enemy of my Enemy which is really expensive I think deters people from the game I agree that it should have been made uncommon.
I love the card, but I think it sucks as a rare. Savage beatdown was not neccessary it was good but there were other alternaitves based on your deck (mega blast, call to arms, heroes in reserve etc.)
There is no alternate to enemy of my enemy yet it is necessary to build lots of differetn decks, the easy solution is reprint it as a common so everyone could get their hands on a playset and newbs wont feel like they need to blow 120 dollars to get into the game.
There are alternatives...just not too good ones.
Vicarius Living, Secrete Origins, Weapon of Choice. I think I'm missing some.
Anyways, if you play a deck that needs a different drop based on the situation, Vicarius is great. Makes 1 ofs avialable to a lot of decks. Secrete Origins rules any curve deck that's...well playing a curve deck. Weapon of Choice has always been too expensive for my taste, plust it gives your opponent too much control, but it's there. EomE is the best one, and it sucks that it's rare and expensive...but VS is made by a bussiness after all, and bussiness need to make money, and lots of it. How else can they give away over $1,000,000 a year?

You have to admit that one or two cards isn't bad though. With YGO all the friggin' cards were ridiculous and cards like BLS and Mirror Force were totally ridiculous but you had to have them to compete. You don't have to have Enemy Of MY Enemy or Beatdowns to compete. They just give you more options. There are few cards that you HAVE to have.
I don't know if there are any HAVE to have cards, I certain feel there isn't any. . I hated YGO, I built these creative decks that would beat anything within the same price range...then I meet some snobby brat who's parents bought him all the shiny cards and he wins, without knowing what he's doing! YGO came down to the same 30 cards, with 10 cards left for doing whatever.
EomE is not a bad card. It's just a search card. Only thing that makes it different than Bat Signal or Signal Flare, is you have to find someone not of the same team. Not a big deal if you used team up cards for the other two.
The price. It's a rare. If my rares are all worthless, then why bother having them as a rare?
The Reason it ruined the game is because now decks can run just random 1 of's. I could play any deck--avengers for example, and because I play my 1 scarlet witch, I eliminate the activated abilities matchup, and since I play 1 of this and that etc. Eventually, they will make cards that are answers to certain decks on their own and are "team-stamped to restrict them", but later on will have created ways to bring it out in any deck. Grrr. Toolbox is NOT good for the game, for people who can't get it, since they can't afford it, and since it will own any deck they make by sticking in 1 character card, they will get bored of the game and quit.
Since X-Men was released, Michael Barnes has included Enemy of my Enemy in 9 of 14 decklists in his Metagame articles; he hasn't always included the full four copies, but they're normally present in some fashion.
I think this is GREAT.
I see this as a more relevant statistic than the 26 of 32 possible EomEs in the Brisbane top 8. Sure, it might be a prerequisite to having a functional deck with multiple affiliations, but once you have those four cards you can do anything you want to. You can build Crime Lords/Doom, JSA/Skrulls, whatever. Without it, these combinations would be pipe dreams. It's like giving a kid a box of a hundred crayons compared to letting him use only three.
I admit, it'd be nice for it to be easier to acquire, but the Crayola boxes of 8 sell for around $0.80 and the boxes of 120 for over $10.
Thing is it tends to be those without a playset (or at least 3) that complain about it. You don't see people with 4 of whining. I think it has definitely hit the game hard but it will pan out fine I think.
Is over rated, since the person having the card played on them gets to pick the one character that gets stunned. So they can pick the cheap character they do not need. Ooo. And with a character card that stop plot twist effects from stunning characters. No big deal. If it was on going, or the person placing it picked the character, then it would be worth it.
Now I will be happy when we see an ongoing plot twist that stuns any character that has three teams at once. (To be fair to duel team cards) Then I could stop having to see Masters of Evil + X-Men + Hellfire + Thunderbolts + Avangers decks.
