Save for Batman Begins, it's seemed like a lot of the the villains in other bat movies have been played like you took their original characters, and then went "What if they were more like Joker?", Carey's Riddler especially. They love to make them laugh and integrate punchlines into their "traps" even if it isn't appropriate for the character, i.e. Two-Face in the third movie. But can you fault the ______ (writers, directors, actors, I don't know who's fault it is) too much? Joker is the best, after all.
Oh, I agree with that entirely. I think sticking closer to their comic personalities would make for far more compelling big screen translations. I just wanted to point out the old trend because it's been bothering me for quite a while.
pee wee herman was in batman returns as the father of the penguin...it would be weird if he was the joker in batman begins again or whatever they are going to call it...a young joker seems kinda cool...i would have liked sean penn.
