Did I Ever Tell You About The Time I Was Eaten?
....So am I the only one who wants to throw Prof. Milo in the ring with Karl and see who's bowl cut is mightiest?
I've apparently missed his excursion with the Frightful Four and the Symbiotes, so you'll forgive me for preferring the power lifting support 25 point dial.
On the other hand that 75 point dial is going to catch some people by surprise and he's got all my favorites on one dial....so I guess I'm going to have to run both!
Especially considering he hands out Sinister Syndicate like Halloween candy.
Also "Did I Ever Tell You About The Time I Was Eaten?" is great flavor text and a fitting tribute to one of the more underrated mad scientist of the Marvel universes.
Karl has never been one to back down from doing his own dirty work, which I can respect in a mad doctor. Considering he was almost the father of the next generation of super soldiers he really doesn't get the respect he deserves.
....Of course G.I. Max didn't exactly last long, but it wasn't really the big goofs fault.
I know the "Power Broker" process had some pretty severe failures and being tied to illegal experimentation didn't help...but man, do you really think the armed forces would have turned their backs on reliable super soldiers?
Maybe a mix of the Broker process and powered armor?
Sorry, part of the fun of comics for me is thinking through the ramifications and possibilities.
I remember digging through a spinner and grabbing the entire Rocket Raccoon mini-series at one time from the one 7-11 in our little Texas town.
Ah, the good ol' days. When comics were a quiet hobby and it was just fun escapism with plenty of whimsy

All things considered, it's a shallow learning curve. There's a handful of mechanics that I tried to spell out in post #3, 4 more speed powers and 4 more attack powers that are in the wwe pac I linked to in that same post. When I get time, I'll spell those out there, too
It will help you know what I was going for there, especially given that his mechanics are really keying off those tools. This is very much UCWF thing. Clobbering time gives him extended reach to go for the alpha strike while his gives him that classic hulk out (awkward pun intended) to kick out, shake off jabs with a no-sell and then turn the tide

We got like a lot of Sharon in f4 last year. A LOT. But they left out the looker and as committed to theme as I'm being here, she absolutely needs to be here.
Because her signature move has a great move&attack built in, I felt more flexible on leaving any others off her speed track. Her slingshot and the misandry lets her focus on keeping the fellas off of her as she goes for light and cheap strikes on the discount

Have we ever gotten an alligator pog? If so I'd have to get one so I could have "Gator the gator" to go along with this Hoodoo wrestling machine!
Most definitely. Gator grant, obvious gator wrestling gag aside, was this great story of a retired wrestler that was sick of all these UCWF guys with power and no skill (as he saw it) undermining his glory. So he went to a voodoo priestess (always a good idea... ) to get a crazy amount of power and, well, go crazy.
His dial is chronicling his not-so gradual transformation into a gator. So he starts with lower dmg and more "pure" mat skills with the charge/slam vs cce, then he gets more raw and bestial in his change and tactics as he ramps up. His signature move is extra sanguine, so watch out on that one. Unlike the wwe dials (and modern design...) I'm eschewing all so some of those signature moves are coming with a price. You'll need to push to pull off that big move and pay for it. 'course gator won't mind taking a trip down his dial

Yay! You recognized d-man. Of course you recognized d-man . His og look was mighty different. Much more '80s. As a raw wrestler, he started as the rival to Ben, then tag team partner and true blue friend. His dial has extra oomf in this set as he was always seen as the wrestling superhero, so he's throwing down in full force. Taking a note from booker t's affinity for his 5-time 5-time 5-time 5-time 5-time wcw champion , I decided to play up dunphy's own 4-time champ with a that plays with the 4s in the crucial breakaway roll (making it a 50/50) and his pin roll (giving him a HUGE advantage in another guaranteed kickout). But the careful eye will note it doesn't end there. His SPs let him kickout to click 4 and his no cheatsies aura is 4 squares. Of course he's got 4 4s on his dial

.....Crossing my fingers for the Grapplers.....just saying.
Hahaha, I won't give it away then, and let the surprise delight and the suspense kill you. But I will ask you who's dialing this thread
That was even in the Eternals mini-series, once again the thoroughness of your set lists impresses me.
Maybe It's Time I Learned-- Using The Power Of The Eternals!, Ikky is going to be a Deviant stomping machine with this special....of course it also plays merry hob with Skrulls, Wraiths and any other shape shifting infiltrator out there.
Signature Move: Secret Kung Fu Smash, now that's a signature move with some impressive teeth. Best used strategically ( which I love ), used right that's going to cripple an opposing piece. Hopefully long enough to count them out for the game.
Its early days of course, but I can't help but think that besides his role as bruiser his lovely long runs of Prob and Perplex and going to be very important for his teams as well.
I do love tent-pole that brings it's own support!
As do I, my friend, that's why I designs 'em that way . I feel he needs to carry his weight by being more than a tankmage, and some well-rounded support works wonders towards that.
Ikky was a deep cut into UCWF, but a delight to be able to reach into this character and do something unexpected (for most) with him. Then again, blitz amazing he's only been clicked the once, smh.
He comes to bear all about speed, fittingly. And while nimble's modest move of 1 doesn't seem much, that starting speed value on top of grand entrance will be big. Combined with his anti-stealth and chicanery sp, he can root out troublemakers very early on. He's too heavy, opting for softer defenses down the road, but the STOPs, regen and perplexing should help him stick around decently or play out he cheaper
I'm glad you see his signature move as strategery. With proper timing that's gonna hurt and give him some second me wind to follow it up nicely, assuming you hit, of course. So be sure to use that prob and perplex wisely
....So am I the only one who wants to throw Prof. Milo in the ring with Karl and see who's bowl cut is mightiest?

Cheap low powered armor backed with all that Broker process strength and endurance would make for some nasty combatants.
in superior carnage, wizard ... nonconsensually installed the symbiote on malus and he had a field day. It was a weird run, in that they counted the malus carnage distinctively as 2 of the four members, with only wizard and klaw to round it out. But I went with the 75 pt formula, the symbiote you'd expect, and his frightful four sharing is meant to rep the symbiote even more. I was also influenced by agent venom designs of late as that became malus' m.o. the sp was wizard's boast that they'd do well with technically 3 given the brains on all 3 of them and that flavor fed directly into the double up design of the sp. And the perplex flavor was way too good of a line to leave on the table. He technically says it afterwards, demonstrating he's got some symbiote side effects lingering, but it fits
The 25er is the classic malus (APT comparison to milo, my friend) we expect and his reason for being here. As the brains behind the money behind the brawn if the UCWF, malus is responsible for sooooo many supers. It was too easy to explain an origin away by linking it to his process and handwaving details. The double empower is potent but stifled by stealth as his only defense imho. This take isn't trying for heroics or even combat. He's too busy playing with his teammates' dials

I was wondering how you'd get the Power Broker's influence to come across on the map.
I would not have thought of doing Jackson something in the vein of No Man's Land Penguin...and it is brilliant!
You Should Relax A Moment Before The Treatments Begin, oh that's the good stuff, He'd be on every Maggia team I field. I don't generally indulge in "The Cheese", but I can't help but mention that Jackson + Count Nefaria makes me want to steeple my fingers and laugh evilly!
And on top of that you've managed to work in his more direct influence on the UCFW and eventual transformation into a muscle bound invalid, excellent!
Any Of His Clients That Don't Help him Get What He Wants-- Get Cut Off!...."Sigh" just when I thought I knew which starting line I'd want to run you throw this in and we get the "Wrastlin Mole Man" and you know how much I love my Galactic Guardians Mole Man!
Behind The Scenes, this combined with his two stop click are going to make Jackson surprisingly hard to take down on his 60 point starting line.
Considering how long Jackson ran around with seeming impunity ( ah corruption! ) you've translated that onto the map without giving him an unwarranted long dial and done it in a creative and strategic manner.

Hey, awesome. The power broker was the man behind the man behind the man with his fingers in everything happening on the west coast (read: everything that wasn't in New York ). A veritable kingpin in his own right. So here I'm introducing the first of the chases and the chase theme of "promoters," using that incredibly BRILLIANT penguin design to set up some pseudo resources via characters keying off of keywords. That should help to make each relevant in its own right as you get the guy that works for each theme. Curtiss (that second s always throws me off) will out some extra oomph in maggia and Ina set full of brutes and UCWF, have not trouble finding relevance. Plus armor is never hurting. It takes a bit to get to his sp, but starting perplex and then outwit is nothing to sneeze at for 10.
And if you're antsy, you can always opt for the full points to field him on the map to get the sp from the getgo, and you also get his ally-mc to make the most of the "taskmaster treatment" of his sp that will keep your pieces at their strategic best until your opponent gets so made at him that they slip into that 5 square radius to get to sing his ballad bye bye
From the UCWF to the New Warriors ( and in an alternate time line to the original Guardians of the Galaxy ) Vance hasn't had an easy time of it, but maybe that's why I've always liked him.
I was hoping his time as Ben's sidekick would make an appearance in this set and you did not disappoint.
Not only that but you worked in some real flavor into this dial, making him stand out from the crowd with his TK subbing for Super Strength.
I always wondered if this was what started him on the road to being able to use his power as more than just a force push like the Guardians Astro was limited to.
Vance has always been a good example of "Good is not boring" in my book and over the years he's gone through a lot of character development that for the most part felt natural and earned.
I do also appreciate his last couple of click giving him some extra end dial flexibility, Stealth , Super Senses, Smoke Cloud and Perplex are going to make him a Swiss Army knife!

Man, Vance has been through the ringer. Surrendering to the police and doing his time was a real wow for me. It was such an anti-easy way out or handwaved loophole. He just accepted his responsibility hardcore and that was amazing. He'll always be great to me because of that. And bonafide promoted fanboy (he beat you to it, kamala) under busiek's avengers was a delight. Especially after all that rough.
Going in the wayback machine to benjy's sidekick era and his earnest kid trying to learn the ropes while on the run from his father was a wild relook considering where I knew he'd end up. But even then he was urging Ben to help out and do the right thing when he was bitter and tired (we can allllll empathize with that, so maybe we could all use some Vance, too).
I will have to correct a few misunderstandings that I hope won't sour your take on the dial. The circle powers, though sharing colors with the PAC we all knew and loved, are a different animal entirely. The WWE PAC adds the extra powers that'll be coming up in this thread. For instance, black circle speed isn't stealth, it's nimble, which is like sidestep but only 1 square balanced by a higher emphasis on maneuverability. Purple circle attack isn't smoke, but stun, which debuffs a bit target's offensive stats next turn. And so forth. The big move on his dial is his giant reach slam. Slam is a CLOSE and after resolutions you get to either token a bit target or place them adjacent. So with the giant reach it let's me do a more offensive "tk" a different way while comboing into his slingshot (purple circle speed) that will let him then kb his hit target in a direction of his choosing, possibly bouncing them off of ropes (printed hindering or blocking) and if they "run into" him again, he could pull off a free attack or if his submission hold (brown circle attack) is showing, he gets to deal an adjacent target a free click of dmg (not dissimilar to poison, but only the one) and then immobilize them. WWE UCWF abilities are all about setup and combos if you can.

My first glance at the dial had me puzzled, but all became clear on reading the text. Simple and effective while not being overpowered and maintaining Speedball's random feel, that takes talent.
That's the kind of dial you want to run for the pure fun of it, Robbie bouncing everywhere and effectively working the "Wrastlin" powers into a non-wrestler dial.
Knock-back is in the center ring on this dial and it makes me want to run Robbie on a map with a lot of walls and blacking and let the chaos commence!
