So here in VT we got a big snow storm over the last two days. This morning I was outside cleaning my car off to bring my wife to the doctor's and I slipped and fell. When I fell, I fell backwards and my head hit the edge of the concrete foundation of the house next door. I didn't think much of it at first, I got up and wiped myself off and finished cleaning the car. But as the day's gone on, I'm feeling very nauseous and I have a throbbing feeling in the back of my head where it hit the concrete. I'm starting to think I may have a concussion. My wonderful doctor's office can't get me in today, so I guess I'll wait until tonight and go to the ER :/

That sucks dude.
Speaking from experience, sounds like a slight concussion to me.
Make sure someone can drive you, rather than driving yourself.

Yeah, Michelle is going to bring me to the ER when she gets out of work. I'm hoping it's not one of those concussions where you have to stay awake for 24 hours. I don't know if I could stay awake until 8:15 tomorrow morning

I will happily call and scream at you every 20 minutes to ensure you're awake.
Seriously, better to stay awake for 24 hours than risk the alternative.

Damn, Suga, you get both extremes when it comes to luck. You find out that you and your wife are gonna need a bigger boat, then you get a possible concussion. Dude, take care of yourself!

Yeah man, it's been a crazy day. I think my pure excitement for the baby is overwhelming the throbbing in my head though. The nausea, on the other hand, is still getting the best of me.

My wife, who happens to work at a hospital, says that having to stay awake after a concussion is largely a myth.
I didn't go to Harvard or Yale but I can kick a man in the crotch as well as any other.

As the not-so-proud father of three known concussions...take it easy. Don't stress your body out and avoid blood pressure changes (standing up too quickly, etc...). Feel better!

Oh, that's good to know! Thanks for that! I'm going to the doctor's in about 2 hours so hopefully he'll be able to tell me what it is I need to do. I was reading WebMD and it seems that for the next couple of days I'll just need to relax and take it easy. Looks like I'll be reading the crap out of Deadpool Classic and the Green Lantern Corps. TPBs I got for Christmas!

Exactly. Matter of fact, they will tell you to rest most of the time. If you sleep you have to make sure you don't get up too fast, doing something strenuous right away, etc... Wish I didn't know this. heh heh
