If you really want him fired, stop buying Marvel books. If Marvel's sales rapidly drop, they will do some major housecleaning.
If you are still shelling out $3.00 or more for books you don't like, you're not really making much impact. Only by using your true power, that is, your spending money, can you make a difference on the comic book (or any) industry.
The problem with that is, the bulk of Marvel's profits anymore come from movies and licensing deals. And, quite frankly, I don't see any way that Spider-Man 3 isn't going to insure that nothing changes at Marvel for a long, long time to come.
As long as profits are up, they aren't going to make any major changes (like, firing the EiC of their comics division).

So. as long as my school doesn't go bust, the staff can naff about, doing whatever they like, and wrecking the ethos and principles of the establishment, and NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING ?
Astonishing.
I never knew that.
(-grin-)
Unfortunatly, the criteria of Marvel, as a business, is making money. J.Q. does this. However, he does it without being a competant editor or writer. Go figure.
LoL

You know, I hear a lot of complaints about Marvel and Joey Q. But when I talk to people in the comic book store in person, or talk wtih other comic geeks, I never hear any complaints. If anything, I see Marvel selling better. While there are tons and tons of creative differences people online have with Joey Q... he did re-vitalize Marvel. Mavel is still selling. They're no longer on the verge of bankruptcy and what not. I may not like the decisions he makes [such as what he's done with Spider-Man] but you have to give him props for stirring conversation. I know a lot of people are dropping Marvel in protest, but you know, at least it's stirring a reaction. Whether it's a good or bad reaction, it's still better than no reaction. I maybe the minority here on the net to say this [although not the minority in the comic book stores around me], but I think Joey Q is doing a pretty good job of at least keeping Marvel afloat. While his decisions may not be agreeable, he shouldn't be fired if his performance in a business sense [such as raking in profit] shows no problems. I mean, Marvel is still a business trying to make money. Unless there's a huge drop in sales, I don't think he should be fired.
Hey, I didn't know you posted on the realms Joey Q!

Long as they're keeping up enrollment, bringing in research grants and have tenure ( ) look at how many professors run around doing and saying anything they wish no matter how stupid or scandalous.

And here I thought mine being harder to say would make it much funnier. Thanks for saving me from myself!
You're welcome.
But man, can't we just demote Quesada to doing art for X-Factor? He was really GOOD at that. (No, that's not meant to be sarcasm, I actually liked him working with PAD there.)

You're not visiting the right stores. The two I go to; the regulars would like to see him removed from his position. While Marvel might sell well, it won't take much more for folks to drop Marvel from their pulls list. As its been stated in this thread, many are down to only one or two Marvel titles. It won't be felt overnight, but if enough sales drop off to the point retailers cut back, then Marvel might make a move on Joey Q.

Then, of course, you've got the students in Cleveland who raped a boy in special ed. Or, the teens who'd raped a girl in special ed. in Rampart, Colorado, but someone at the school board said they refused to even suspend the boys because the victim 'might've enjoyed it' (detailed here).
And, then, of course you've got the sixth graders who had intercourse, in the classroom, with their classmates watching, with the teacher present (detailed here) that was covered up by the school board for more than 4 months. And, the fifth graders who also had sex, in a classroom (detailed here), who were left 'inadvertantly unattended' while their teacher went to an assembly for the entire school but left the class behind.
And, those are just the stories that've made the news. They are, no doubt, merely the tip of the iceberg. So, yes, in America, as long as your school doesn't go bust, your teachers and your fellow students can do pretty much whatever they want and, most of the time, get away with it.

Sadly it'll get worse before it gets better. When he feels the fire at his feet Joey will no doubt turn to limited re-boots, foil holo-covers and new costumes/deaths, as obviously the downswing is reader boredom.
I was a big Marvel fan, and was into a lot of Marvel books, until House of M.
This has been a complete and utter train-wreck ever since.
My #1 favorite Marvel character- Dead. Shot while in handcuffs. Just previously, he had revealed to himself that he was being a villian. Didn't even get a hero's death.
My #2 favorite Marvel character- Became the real villian. Now he's running one of the most corrupt organizations on the planet, and all because a woman spat on him in church. And at every single turn, he does everything he can to be completely evil. Such as when he throws Spiderman through a wall for wanting to leave, or trying to kill Captain America, or not even letting people mourn over his body, or try to find a way to bring him back. He's just such a ####basket of stupidity, that I can't stand him anymore.
My #3 favorite Marvel character- in Hell.

My sister-in-law teaches special Ed and is currently receiving counsell from her union because the school psychiatrist had a chat with her about how big the breasts of one of the ######## girls he takes out swimming are. His fellows were not impressed at her 'attack' on his character.
Actually all she did was tell the principal exactly what he said, and that she found the comments innapropriate. She was spurred on by the fact that a couple of times over the years he's been suggestive or stroked her back creepily, but she'd shrugged it off till the bra size thing.

One good thing about House of M, it thinned out the mutants. Mutants were fun and interesting when they were a struggling minority. When they became millions strong and had their own soverign nation it was a bloody joke.

Sadly, that doesn't surprise me.
Even more sadly, I was somewhat questioning of the whole homeschooling movement when it really started back in the late 1980s / early 1990s. But, as those types of stories start appearing on what seems to have become a daily basis, I'm starting to wonder if maybe homeschooling isn't the way to go ...
