I understand what they were TRYING to do with Mephisto, but they failed. Instead of an attacking tentpole, they wanted a standing in the back scheming supporter. For a large amount of points, he offers virtually nothing.

For the ruler of Hell he is complete and utter garbage.

What the devil? Um, if they wanted to be true to life, Mephisto is not a deity. He's just a powerful fallen angel. Sheesh.

I had him, but I got rid of him. WAY over priced. I like the Mystics/Regen. combo, but still...Not worth it.

It's so funny to me that he is one of the few SRs from this set that really hold their value on singles sites and Ebay. 1 damage, horrendous. And average Defense of 15? I could live with all of that for this wannabe prince of lies if his specials made him over the top in any way but he's such a puddle of mediocrity lost in this field of well-costed beauties in this set like Spider-Man, Elektra, She-Thing, Captain America, Iron Fist etc. that he just doesn't justify anything other than a good sculpt to mod a dial for.

A great leader for an army of Mindless Ones or cheaper Mystical characters. My favorite tactic is to have 'Phisto remove an action token from BatB Black Adam or Shazam (140), use Outwit to counter a defense power, and then be taxied during the HSS attack. Other than that, he's a very expensive support piece that rarely sees play; the "Brother Blood" of Marvel, if you will.

He'd STILL be terrible, but thematically, I'm amused at the idea of using him as a Galactus herald.

My most wanted clix, and the most disappointing waste of a clix I have ever seen. Total failure.

Silver Surfer, The Hulk, and to some degree Spider-man are Heroclix's biggest failures. For whatever reason they never seem to get them right. Hulk finally got a real version with The Avengers Movie set.
But when you look at Mephisto, even though he is just one mistake against the many of the above mentioned figures, i think he may be the games biggest error.
Mephisto debuted as a rival to Silver Surfer. He nearly bested him. He is the lord of a realm. He has matched wits with Loki, battled against Thor, change Parkers Reality. He is powerful.
No one is afraid of this figure. He should have all kinds of outwit, preplex, mind control.

We played a 'Terrible Clix' game a while back...a bunch of 1 and 2 star pieces...and Mephisto just wrecked. 11 attack, outwit, Mystics...the moral of the story is that Mephisto sucks so bad, he even sucks at sucking.

Why does this clix have to suck so bad? I wanted to use Mephisto for Thano's new ability, but it would be an embarrassment to everyone involved...

Try and look at the bright side. At least he is not as bad as KC Batman.

I recently played this guy on a team with The Stranger and Graviton vs mistress death, maelstrom. And quasar, mephisto actually did great! He continued to outwit power cosmic and the used his dark bargain incapacitation. This tied my opponents overpowered god figures up nicely...he almost always went for the deal and tried to roll a 5-6....missing everytime. Yeah....he's got high points....but he 'tempts'is your opponent into making a deal with the devil.....this alone made him worth it as stranger and graviton had their clash of the titans against death and maelstrom. Great figure...will never part or trade him. I do want an update however, I would like him to have an extensive list of specials based on 'bargains'a your opponent must make.

For a Deity like figure who strength is limitless(rivals the hulk) this figure is a huuuuuge dissappointment for me.
