Mephisto is an overall disappointment in the game. This isn't to say he's without his uses, just he's short, far short, of what he could have (and ought to have) been.
Most won't field this guy but for those who do he's really about incapacitate, a power I rather like (his attack starts at 11 so he's more likely to hit at least). Leadership and outwit also make him a good choice for feats like contingency plan, dissent and thwart. Let's also remember that as one of the very few Marvel Mystics he's got a special role in the set and can lend the ta to all those Wildcards out there.
Is he worth the 145 points? No. But he can be an expensive support piece that slows down your opponents.
If you're gonna represent Mephisto as a mischevious schemer, don't make him cost half your team! Look at Mr. Mxylplyx for the right way to do a pest. On the plus side, an amazing sculpt, and if you have an extra Anti-Monitor, he looks awesome atop that dial.
My greatest grudge against this dial is that the Lord of Lies has a big chance of doing NOTHING with his attacks. I understand the concept of his bargains turning against him, but VERY FEW people could do that (i can only remember Doom) and this was too exagerated. He misses PC and Perplex, and i don't get why that Leadership SP exists. He could have been an amazing supporter, and the schemer approach would have been perfect. Too bad, he was one of my most wanted villains. Worst dial Seth has ever designed, by far.
Uber major disappointment and not worth the points by any stretch of the imagination. Amazing sculpt and it was cool to see Mystics finally crossover to Marvel clix but beyond that this figure's got very little in the way of saving grace. He drops the ball even as a figure only meant to represent one thematic aspect of the character. As a trickster the likes of which they intended to represent, he still could/should have had higher defense, longer dial and some further defenses in the form of shape change. And he could have been indomitable. Indomitable would have gone a long way and might have actually helped to make sure that stupid leadership special actually did something. The AV is great but there's not much to do with it. This is just a major example of WK's best intentions gone awry. Pity, as the sculpt should really be on display on maps more than just on peoples' shelves.

I have nothing to add to this. Perfectly put.
Ominous 8: Dr. Doom, Mysterio, M.O.D.O.K., Swarm, the Wizard, the Klaw, dire wraiths, Riptide.
WOW, take a character that rules an entire demonic realm and whos one of the most powerful evil forces in comics and make him something Robin could defeat. Sheesh, way to make a Cosmic Being into a street level threat there WK. :) Horrible representation of the character IMHO.

Way overpriced. Definitely should have been indomitable. Dark Bargain is the right idea but for that price I would have made it give 2 action tokens or possibly 2 unavoidable damage. All that would be comic accurate and worth around 145 points.
Amazing sculpt Imo, other than that a bad rep of a being who is supposed to be Satan!! essentially. that being said he should be on about on par with Thanos
First off, I love the sculpt. As far as playability goes, he isn't worth his points but he can still be useful and very annoying. Between the super senses, regeneration, steal energy and phasing he has some serious staying power. He will only ping people for 1 click or incapacitate, but he will do it for a long time (and against 2 targets!). Especially if you throw auto regen on him. To top it off, he is an outwitter and has the Mystics TA for your wildcards. He should have cost closer to 100 points, but I still think that people deem him horrible and useless way too quickly. Put him on a team with starter Dr.Doom and a couple of starter Doombots. It works out pretty well:cool: Now on another note, I do think at some future date they should make an all powerful version of him somewhere between 200-300 points. They were just going for the 'toys with lesser beings' version this time around.
