Saying they have been turned into another adjunct to the X-Men doesn't really seem like a defense, to me. Heck, that's just repeating my attack.
But, I do get your point, Blackheart. You were filling me in on the events that happened in the comics which led to their new status quo. I thank you for taking the time to let me know about that.
It doesn't really do anything to warm me up to this new team, though.
I'm kind of with you, and I'm as big an X-men fan as you'll find.
When Havok at. al took over, they took the Starjammers title, but that's about it. Their only real mission has been to take down Vulcan... if that ever actually succeeds, they won't really have much of a purpose.
Short Version: Von Strucker blows up some place called Ichor, forcing Hydra to begin rebuilding. Phebos gives a short version of what the future of his fellow secret warriors holds, and Nick is going to have one of them infiltrate Hydra. Hydra brings Gorgon back from the dead.
Is that the male or the female gorgon that they bring back from the dead?

Male.
In other books I got this week:
Also got Secret Warriors 1 which I skipped over last month due to the price tag, but decided to try out this month because it apparently isn't a $4 ongoing series (the first issue was just beefed up with cool background data).
War of Kings - Already covered, and looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Deadpool - Again, already covered and looking forward to what happens next. In more detail, though, Deadpool spends the issue infiltrating Avengers tower as Norman watches, steals an Iron Man chest plate, and otherwise entertains himself as he scales the building by making fun of Osborn's hair.
Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk - How we get from Cocoa to tearing Wolverine in half and threatening to eat one of his legs. Short answer: Hulk doesn't respond well to references to Betty. Hulk utterly stomps him (no surprise there) and then gets his would-be meal interrupted by the arrival of Ultimate She-Hulk.
Korvus and Rachel shouldn't be together. They pretty much broke it off before Corsair died (unless this was forgotten). The starjammers haven't even been on a true mission yet. WoK was the first book that showed them all together....and i don't like what they have possibly done to Raza. Eh, I just wanna see how Nova and Darkhawk fits into this anyway and of course the more Vulcan the better!!
So Gorgon is back? That's good. He was a really really good bad guy. I'm glad he's back and I hope they can use him well.
Now, how did they get around the fact that Gorgon decapitated Baron Von Strucker in the Enemy of the State storyline?
It was shown in an issue of New Thunderbolts within 6 months after Enemy of the State had ended that Strucker had backup clones with backup memories all over the place so that he could escape death frequently. So, of course, one was activated at this point, and has seemingly been biding his time, recovering, and messing with things from a distance since. Really took some of the edge off Enemy of the State to do that so quickly.
It's unclear as of the end of SW#2 who is really in charge. Strucker is Supreme Hydra, but he assembles a gathering of himself, Viper, Madame Hydra (a new one, not Viper), Hive (alien-looking thing), and Kraken to resurrect Gorgon. I assume Strucker is in charge, but it seems more like 6 heads of Hydra, none more or less in control than another.
HeroClix needs more Goblin.
Acceptable in such forms as Green, Grey, Demo, Hob, Ultimate, and "Menace."
I've only read Deadpool and War of Kings so far. I thought War of Kings was a very good start. Plenty of action, lots of "name" characters and I'm interested to see how Nova and GotG tie into this. Nova in particular since...
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Richard Rider doesn't even have any powers right now. I realize the Nova series doesn't tie in until issue 24 but that leaves them basically one issue to get him back as Nova and then get him into War of Kings.
Also the tie-ins and such don't bother me as they aren't nearly as pervasive as Secret Invasion or Civil War. I can take a handful of supplemental stories. I'm not too keen on every Marvel book being tied in to something though.
