It is correct that while Thor meets the prerequisites for Shellhead he currently, cannot gain the +2 bonus to defense due to the standard defense symbol on the card and not the indomitable symbol. I have verified this with Norm Barth (NbPerp). Shellhead would need an errata or reprint to allow it to benefit indomitable figures. Check with your local judge though as he may allow it and for casual play, you could set a house rule that allows it also. Shellhead still benefits Power Cosmic figures however. Thank you to all for pointing this out as I was not aware of this ruling.
Multiple top dial clicks of sure-thing AV + 5DaV + indomitable + an effectively 15 range = BRUTAL. Tack on 7 clicks of invulnerability, never going below 9AV and not having any points wasted on powers like EE (double target EE is nice, but not as an alternative to 4-5 base damage) and you have a mega brick whose is actually fairly sleek. Very straight forward, very effective, very brutal. Play him without mercy. SOLID tent pole for Avengers and Warrior themes.
Where is the pulse wave, energy explosion, phasing/teleport and the most important thing..IMPERVIOUS!!!!! besides that he is pretty good and gives a beating
Initially I was disappointed with this figure because of no impervious. I quickly got over that when I realized that even though he lacks impervious, there's a whole lot of invulnerability to soak up damage and he brings the pain every game. It's wonderful to have a Thor with indomitable. I wouldn't get too upset over him not being fully powered, keep in mind that this is his "experienced" version. A "veteran" version could still come.
Why is he so tiny? With the set named after him you would think this would be the stand-out sculpt but that would be Beta Ray Bill. That being said; contingency plan gives him an 18 swing. Take that, Superman!
This figure is awesome, very hard to kill and makes a lot of damage. Btw, it's dumb to compare a Kryptonian to a Nurse God, if we made that comparision, put KC Superman agaisnt any Thor.
Anyone who says it's dumb to compare heroclix figures or comic book characters is dumb. With his running shot, range, and ability to push; I would take this figure over any KC Superman.
Got this guy yesterday and played him with SI Herc against a 400pt Superman,Wonder Women and Batman team.Thor wiped the floor with those DCers.Took only one click the whole match.
HE IS GR8, I PLAYED HIM ON A 700PT
SCRULL MS MARVEL
CD SUPS LE
AGENT BRAND W/CONTINGENCY
THOR W/CONTINGENCY
& PROTECTED NA SOME OTHER CARDS
AND HE & SUPS LE WERE ALL I HAD LEFT STANDING, ON MY SECOND ROUND, AGENST AN ALL BATMAN TEAM, TALK ABOUT OUTWIT AND STELTH OVERKILL, BUT THIS COMBO ROCKS, I THINK HE ONLY WENT DOWN 4 CLIX AND GOT TO USE HIM WITH CCE AND CHRG THEN TIME ENDED,:d-indomitable::d-indomitable:
He is pretty darn good. The Indomitable really puts him over the top though. Being able to shoot someone for 5 with a 12 attack from 10 away for two turns with no penalty? Yeah, thats nice. I really thought I wouldn't like him without Impervious, but I really the high D really seems to fit him well. Love the fact that he has the Avengers Keyword. Good all around Thor, best to representation of him to date, and so great as a common.
All 5's here. The sculpt is good for a common. This Thor is the mac-daddy. I rarely lose when I use him. He's the ultimate beatstick, staying consistent through most of his dial. Feel free to feat him up with Contingency Plan and Fortitude. I see somebody else here mentioned using him with SI Iron Man and HoT Captain America on a 500 point team... it completely destroys.
