I'm still EXTREMELY new to clix and therefore only have so much (luckily I pulled well when buying my first TT pack).
Currently the best team I have assembled is as follows:
#047a Starfire from TT
#008 Nightwing (SOG)
#016 Batgirl (SOG)
My team is not perfect but I have done well with it so far for the following reasons:
I always start Starfire off carrying Nightwing (she mods his defense when adjacent) and I running shot a target opponent. She is mad powerful so this is generally successful on its own. I then place the nightwing between myself and my target as he is a sacrificial lamb more or less. This nightwing is excellent for recieving and dealing close combat and if you start him on his lesser value, he has flurry right off the bat. Even if you do kill him, you'll hve taken enough damage for the Starfire to just go in for the kill, taking no damage herself.
The Batgirl has three purposes. 1: stealth, I stick her in hindering on the same level as Night wing and perplex up his defense (2) Her third purpose is her gooperangs which compliments Star's energy explosion when used in the same turn on the same targets.
Again, I'm new, and this isn't perfect.....but it was good enough to win a few against seasoned players so I thought I'd post
Question AND Stranger from ToS.
Negate all Perplex and Outwits, have Question Charge and FLurry same turn
Double outwit and Perplex on my side. Little on the low model count but still UBER fun
Capt. America and Black Widow #130pts
Swamp Thing #150pts
+Bat belt on Cap
Swamp thing speeds around putting hindering terrain everywhere,
while the duo stays in stealth and shoots everyone(stats boosted with bat belt)(Avengers Initiative TA= Ignores Hindering terrain for line of fire).
I'll give you that the Avengers Movie set certainly makes split/merge doable again and thus the synergy possible is certainly increased. Swamp Thing would probably be replaced with 2 other Avengers in a high level competition, but that certainly looks like a lot of fun.
90 FL060R Engineer
+25 w/ Ion
75 GOTG038 Maximus
82 GOTG007B Captain Marvel
2 WOLR100 Power Battery (Green Lantern Corps)
8 Green Lantern Ring
8 Shield (Green) on Engineer
4 Bulldozer (Green) on Maximus
6 Sniper/Spotlight/Decoy on Marvel
Ion ruins your theme as he doesn't have Scientist keyword.

It was my understanding that if the entity started the game on a character's card it didn't break theme. It can only help it with the named lantern keyword. Is this incorrect?
New mutants team base @100 points, all characters
WatX Magik - 102
WatX Wolfsbane - 63
Your choice of resource. Phoenix force isn't a bad shout. GL battery works well too.
How it plays:
Team base pops of either sunspot (on his 11 AV pulsewave click) or mirage (on her charge, blades PC click). Magik doubles movement and carries Wolfsbane plus sunspot/mirage way up the table. Click of damage to Wolfsbane to get past her activation click. Next turn go to work with Wolfsbane and the other piece. If sunspot/mirage gets KOed, remove a piece from the team base to put them right back where they started.
250 AAOU018 Ultron Prime
025 Black Hand (on UP)
006 Sinestro Battery and Ring
016 Wall (yellow) and Sniper Rifle (yellow)
002 Black Lantern Corps ATA (on both)
299 / +2 BLC Theme / TTPC: 2
Ophidian (for Pulsewave, then HSS) or Entity (PC, then Perplex, chance to Regen on clicks 4 and 8) could replace Black Hand, but having RS up front is nasty.
250 AAOU018 Ultron Prime
025 Black Hand (on UP)
006 Sinestro Battery and Ring
016 Wall (yellow) and Sniper Rifle (yellow)

Looking at your team, I was curious as to why you wouldn't choose Parallax. Stealth or Psychic Blast and Sinestro Corps keyword means an additional +1 to all stats from the Sinestro battery... That makes you a 12 attack with 19 defense that can only be attacked when based unless they can ignore hindering. If you play the mallet you have close combat disruption if they can swarm you.
I believe my version would look like this:
Build
250 AAOU018 Ultron Prime
25 WOL065P Parallax
2 WOLR105 Power Battery (Sinestro Corps)
4 WOLR305 Sinestro Corps Ring
6 WOLR205.14 Sniper Rifle (Yellow)
4 WOLR205.03 Mallet (Yellow)
6 WOLR205.12 Spotlight (Yellow)
297
Just wanted to give RS up front (and Black Hand is easier to come by for some player's wallets). You can make any piece better with parallax, but lets shake things up a little.
GOTG060 Thane 115
GOTG028 Karnak 75
GOTG038 Maximus 75
FFGOTG006r Lockjaw 25
AVXS103 Fragment - Colossus 10
Sideline
GOTG018 Alpha Primitive 30 x2
I have not lost a match with this team yet the synergy is perfect. I tk Karnak out to pick up fragment which now gives him flight, a dmg reducer, and the cherry on top PENETRATING POISON. Thane deals massive dmg, Lockjaw either plays the role of transporter or dmg sponge. Karnak ties people up and is very frustrating to deal with. Then Maximus outwits and sends out the Primitives as a clean up crew.
225 Iron Man (M10)
65 Rescue
3 SHIELD ATA
3 some pog
2 Bat signal
= 298 points
It's an "armor" theme team. The SHIELD ATA allows Iron Man to add +1 to his range when he uses Perplex. Use said Perplex from both him and her to up one or more of Iron Man's combat values, then fling him out there with Rescue's T/K. Watch him running-shot/pulse-wave someone's bruiser. Then if necessary immediately call him back home with the Bat signal. Or leave him there to do it again next turn. It's very effective against power battery + entity equipped teams. The only short-coming of this team (that I've noticed so far) is that you're not using a resource, and your opponents very likely are. But that double perplex + ATA + pulse-wave goes a fair way toward countering that. Your big weakness will be really poor dice rolling. Otherwise you will wreck.
