The politics forum is where one goes to argue such topics on the Realms, though.
You're welcome.
Out of curiosity, what other non-political topics are supposed to be discussed in the politics forum? I've never been there.

In regards to Clix, while Rom himself may not be in our near future, I imagine it wouldn't be too big a deal to include Starshine. She had some cameos in the recent Infinity crossover. There's no reason they can't make her.
I was never a fan of Rom when I was growing up, but one of my friends was, and he had all the toys and stuff. But if they made a Rom Heroclix figure, I'd get it if it was decent and usable.

I simply don't understand those Mighty Muggs. But that's par for the course, since I don't understand about 95% of the things that are on the market. Only about 5% of what's available is actually of any real use, or worth keeping. The rest just fufills a momentary urge to acquire, or helps build around ouselves an image we desire to project.

Since we're being deeply philosophical, I'll add my little bits.
I agree with you. I see a lot of things every day that boggle my mind. If you work as a janitor, for example, and you see what kind of things people throw out, it's just sad and can make you cynical. (Or more cynical) That's because we here in the Occident are so focused on "now, not later" and convenience. Part of it is that our lives have become based on tight, busy schedules, and we no longer know how to slow things down or how to see what's actually important, and what is irrelevant.
Also, it's the LOVE of money that is the root of evil, not the actual money itself. Maybe that's what you were saying, though...
Honestly, Hasbro needs to do SOMETHING (besides a stupid Mugg) with the Rom property now. Before all of us who actually give a damn about it die.
Yeah I mean we'll never get a ROM in Heroclix but if this thing sells well at SDCC they might consider making a Marvel Legends figure, and that would make me very happy.

As far as Spaceknights in Heroclix go, we're already getting an Ikon to round out the Annihilators, and a generic Dire Wraith. And in the Annihilators comic, they basically create peace between the Galadorians and the Dire Wraiths and kind of tied up any loose ends from ROM that were left over.
Oh man, we got a Negative Man and a Jimmy Olsen? Now I need to think of a new signature after all these years!
I don't know which is more annoying, the fact that after 30yrs this is the best Rom merch they could come up with or that it's a con exclusive that's not nearly worth what it'll cost me to get it.
You are spot on with this assessment, my friend.
My only guess (and not a very good guess.) would be that Hasbro is testing the merchandising water with this thing.
What I find kind of funny about the whole Rom toy thing is that when it was out, I never saw it much at the stores. And when I did, I saw a plastic toy that had nowhere near the points of articulation that some of the other toys did. Not the most appealing action figure out there. And I seem to remember it being a bit pricey back then, especially for an almost immobile action figure.
Rom was one of those comics that I would pick up monthly back in the day, and while it was clearly a vehicle to sell toys, the book had a charm of it's own that separated it from that aspect almost immediately.

We're overdue for Wizkids to make Joe on the Lawmaster and other 2000AD characters.

No. Capitalism is a (bad IMO) choice of civilization.
With that said, i think in my language (french) "capitalisme" encompass more things than what the word "capitalism" seems limited to describe in english. It's something that happens regularly since english is a very precise language with alot of semantic variation 'in words' where our variations are in nuances through 'adjectives' (when you want to desibe different form of smallness, you use : tiny, small ; when we use petit, très petit, ...)
So i may have use the word capitalism wrongly thinking it was the same as "one" of the meanings in France for "capitalisme". For us, it is both politic/societal choice/model and the economic theory.
I'm not sure of the word i should use instead of capitalism ? Perhaps liberalism ? Consumerism ? it's very difficult to express those kind of things in a foreign language since nuances and details can be very important.
yet... i think i could still try and improve my vocabulary. but i'll do it in the proper section next time.

Sorry
Consumerism is probably what you're looking for.
The ideal of capitalism is the Horatio Alger vision of a country where everyone pulls themselves up by the bootstraps and betters themselves and society through hard work and self-reliance.
The reality is becoming closer to a Ridley Scott vision of giant corporations reaming out the population for fun and profit.
