It never hurts to add in a Dimension Fusion when you run Dark Necrofear..Or two.A good card in a jam..As long as you have the lifepoints...Good luck with your fiend deck! :p
Well, about using Mefist to his fullest pottential, I run 2, and it takes too long to explain but in short every card in my deck has multiple uses and it very intertwinded to keep the deck stable and balanced. The way I like to use Mefist is to summon him, attack with him, take a card from their hand, and then Metamorphises him into Dark Balter the Terrible, who is in my book the most powerful of all Fiends. The other way is just to have them attack him with a beatstick, and then use Bark of Dark Ruler. If you're ahead in life points and they just attacked with Berserk Gorilla, then pay 2000 to deal 1800 damage and take a card from their hand. If not, then just pay 300 to overpower it and snatch a card from the hand. The following turn you should get a direct attack, and trust me it really is a psychological chrisis for your opponent. I've had people LITERALLY have nervous breakdowns when I summon Mefist the Infernal General and set a card. I mean, they know it's either Bark of Dark Ruler or Book of Moon, but it's definetly not a chance they're willing to take, so belive it or not I've had the most experienced players put their Archfiend Soldiers, Airknights, etc in defense mode....It's quite hilarious
So the 2 best cards to run him with are Bark of Dark Ruler and Book of Moon in my opinion. Furthermore, in my deck I have 3 Night Assailants, so I run 2 Wicked Breaking Flamberg- Baou (WHAT a cool name!) to combo with either Mefist or Necrofear for crazy damage! Even the standard Slate Warrior or Archfiend Soldier is now a 2400 effect negator! Also, I love to do Creature Swap on Sangan, Witch, Tomato, or Giant Germ then tribute their monster (unless it's Witch or Sangan) for Mefist and attack my searcher, hurting them, taking a card, and then also getting the searcher effect for often another attack! What could be better?
Dark Jeroid is another great card to use while Mefist is on the field, esspecially with Ultimate Offering, and summoning it during their battle phase and lowering their monster to kill the turn after
Well, this has been a Mefist report brought to you by Pyrofire14. Please stay tuned for more options. BEEP!
Thanks pyrofire, and good luck on the tour. I was looking at my Mefist deck last night and thought about the Metamorphasis tactic also...though I'm focusing on Kuriboh. Lol. And how would one become a member of the fiendesh army? I've been using fiends ever since LOD and the day I pulled my 1.e Dark Ruler, which I still have to this day.
I just made my fiend deck like two weeks ago when I acquired a Necrofear. One thing lead to another, I pulled a Skull Archfiend from a pack, I've had Ha Des forever, Vampire is a staple to me, and Kablamo! FIEND DECK!
I have a huge queston. Does End of Anubis stop a Necrofear from being summoned, because it doesn't stop Chaos, i think it shouldn't stop Necrofear. I finally pulled an Anubis!!!!!!!!
Strange story though. Ever since I have played a fiend deck, here are my rares from packs.
Theban Nightmare
Skull Archfiend
Grave Protector
End of Anubis.
Someone wants me to become a powerful fiendish duelist.
Necrofear and chaos have (almost) the same special summoning requirements, so anything that stops chaos stops necrofear. End of Anubis doesn't stop chaos, so he doesn't stop necrofear.
End of Anubis won't prevent Dark Necrofear's summoning, but it WILL stop it's graveyard effect.
But now that it's been mentioned, let's discuss 2 of the AST Fiends:
Grave Protector
Ahhh...the Grave Protector. When I ran him in my Chaos Archfiend deck, I usually brought him out to the field with Last Will + CED if Theban Nightmare was already in the graveyard or in my hand. So what can this card do? Well, the most OBVIOUS answer is that is stops graveyard effects. Witch, Sangan, Emmisary, Germ, Nomongas, Tomatoes, Shining Angels, etc etc etc, will end up somewhere in the middle of the deck than in the graveyard and will have their effects not activate. All in all, this is a pretty good effect. However, when playing a deck that needs monsters in the graveyard (I.E. Necrofear, Chaos, etc), this card can REALLY screw up some strategies. Since the only way to get monsters to the graveyard would be to discard or send them there.
It also has 2000 DEF which is the highest for level 4 effect fiends.
End of Anubis
OK, this card is scary...How scary is it? I, with all honesty, DON'T like it. Why? I've stated it before. Fiends work as a team. They lean on each other and make each other stronger. This guy seems to be a loner. Negating SO many effects, that running him in a Fiend deck would more oftenly hurt you more than it will HELP you. Negating Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted, Magician of Faith, Newdoria, Necrofear, Witch, Sangan, Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler, Desrook Archfiend, Giant Germ, Kuriboh, Mask of Darkness, Night Assailant, Helpoemer, and the list goes on and on and on. He's MUCH to independent. I'd run Ha Des over him ANY day.

Yeah, I forgot to say that anubis negates necrofear's return. I was only thinking of her summoning.
Wow. I decided to try out a mefist after hearing pyro and waldo rant about it, and it pwned! I did have a major problem with it though. My opponent snatched it from me in nearly every duel!! Arrgh. That wasn't any fun. But I now see how good mefist is. Thanks for turning me onto him guys.
And BTW, pyro and waldo, could you guys take a peek at my fiend deck in my sig? I'd appreciate it.
If you want to base your deck around Mefist, then run IMT. This will prevent him from being destroyed AND it's a great counter to Snatch Steal and Change of Heart.

Well, I must admit I always thought you said that jut because you're a little crazy about Fiends (where did I get that common misconcpetion???). But now that I started to play Fiends I'm pretty much in shock. Every card in my deck has at least 5 or so purposes and endless combinations! That's what I love most about Fiends...More than the fact that they're powerful, ruthless, and evil...Is how with every opening hand there are so many combos to pull off and so many things to think about. To be a good Fiend player one must think ahead many and many turns, because it can be game breaking. Should I discard Kuriboh now for Necrofear? Should I get Giant Germ (my usual choice) or Night Assailant with my Mystic Tomato...After all, I have 1 in my hand and my opponent runs hand control...What should I Creature Swap? What should I equip with Wicked Breaking Flamberg- Baou? There are always countless questions bogging the mind of a Fiend player, and that's what drives me crazy about them. With every play, the possibilities open further and further...
End of Anubis

lol. I initially shared the same sentiments as you, waldo, on EOA. It normally counters your own strategy and cards. And with BoMs running in my area (my influenece on the meta :p ), its zero defense absolutely sucks.
However, with the coming of the new set "Rise of Destiny", EOA will be seeing more use in future. I can guarantee you that.
*Looks down on God of Creation (new Flavor of the Month card in RDS) and laughs....
ps~ I'm just taking a short break from my assignments. I'm naughty. lol.

THAT makes me laugh. You're naughty??? Have you ever noticed that Waldo is always on Realms during the weekdays...And I mean ALWAYS?? Have you ever bothered to think why and how? Yeah, he pretty much spends have his time working and the other half on Realms during his work hours lol. We've exchanged up to 10 emails a day before, that's how busy he is :p
As for EOA getting better, we'll just see...He worked for me before, I had him on my top 5 tribute monster list, but now that I'm running a Fiend deck I don't want him stopping my monsters, because I have lots and lots of monsters that he negates
Oh and I'm going out on a limb here Waldo...After much thought and concern (as well as lack of money), I came to the conclussion that Mefist the Infernal General is the best Fiend monster. I would much rather run him over Ha Des any day! (Please don't hit me... :surprised)
Duelindevil665: That tends to happen, but I have 3 MST's and 3 Magic Drains, it doesn't bother me. I'll have a look at your deck right after I'm done studying for tommorow's match -_-
Update!
My tribute-fiend deck just got 4th yesterday. Not bad for a brand new deck (First time I played it was in the warm up for the tourney) and I finally beat my "rival" with it. He's a little kid with a chaos, and I finally owned him in the warm ups, but he was my first round opponent, and he yata locked me once, and CED blasted me the other. That didn't finish it though. I IMT'd my Dark Ruler to dodge the blast. I attacked once, so we were both at 1200, but then he topdecked a magic cylinder. it was down to the final attack, and I lost it.... darn.
These are its tributes...
Skull Archfiend
Jinzo
End of Anubis
Dak Ruler Ha Des
Vampire Lord
Chaos Monsters
2 necrofear.
I love my new deck. I found it to be super agressive, and found myslef swarming my opponent with Dimension fusion pretty much every round. Removing these always helps...
Necrofear...
End of Anubis, Skull Archfiend and Dark Ruler Ha Des.
Black Luster or Ced...
Jinzo and X-Head cannon.
pay 2000, and attack for the win.
That is my main combo for the deck, but the other is quite fun.
Vampire Lord and Grave Protector.
I only attack the weaklings with graveyard effects, and hopefully get some damage. I found grave protector can destroy chaos (except ddwl) and End of Anubis can piss people off majorly. Plus with 2500 attack, who can complain? :speechles
waldo and pyrofire have joined forces? Oh dear god.. The end is near!
Alright, so here's my plan. I'll form an army of spellcasters to battle the massive fiend army. It'll either work, or be an incredibly cool battle. I mean come on..you wouldn't hurt the Gemini Elf, would you? She's much too good looking.. Either way it'll be a blast.
Seriously though.. With all this talk of fiends you have me considering trying to trade for some cards in order to build one. I figure it's one of the few type decks I haven't tried, and most, if not all, are dark. I've always preferred dark..
Lol Saturine...I know, pyro and waldo together? who knows what they'll come up with. They inspired me to look at Mefist more, and the Kuriboh Smackdown deck was born as a result. An early veriosn did quite well, I'm currently looking for the cards to complete it. The version I have currently was able to take out a Dark Paladin with a Slate Warrior. It was quite fun, as are fiends in general. Definately go for it.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I'm going to put the Fairies away for a while and use the Fiend deck again.
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to perform my "Open the Underworld Gates" ritual. It's very taxing to give up half your soul, but oh well...Here goes.....
