Which is why I see this card working wonders in draft, but no so much on regular PvP. They will always pack some troop removal because of potential problems like this.
So don't put all your eggs in one basket. Like other have said, you dump mana, sorry.. resources into the guy when you have nothing else to do with it. You're a lot better off pumping him up than just wasting resources, but that doesn't mean you have to spend 15 resources on the guy. Any creature removal they use on him is something they won't be using on your Aeronaut or Alabaster Sphinx later, which might just bring back the totem anyway :cheeky:
I think it's a really good card for an aggro deck, since their biggest problem late game is usually having tons of resources without much to do with them. How good of a shard diamond turns out to be for an aggro deck remains to be seen however.

I think most colors will be able to combine with other colors to make any sort of deck.
Hm... you think Captain Planet themed deck will be an option?
If you're asking seriously about a five-shard deck, I have to assume so. Otherwise cards like [cards=hex]Midnight Shepherd[/cards] are pretty pointless.

In magic it worked only with a lot of "serch your deck for a mana and put in into play" and with the multi-colored lands... not sure how will it will work here based on the cards that have been spoiled
A generally versatile card that can potentially win games. If this card lives for some turns and they buff it every turn, then the only way to kill it is to use cards like Murder.
Well, there are more removal cards than just murder. [cards]Inner Conflict[/cards] for one.
At the moment deck design is prohibiting by the basic-only resources I expect to get dual resources at some point and this will open up the deck-design space to facilitate 3 and 4 shard decks. As it is at the moment only single shard and dual shard decks are viable and with lots of the top cards requiring two threshold it really puts a pressure on decks resource whereby people will need to run 25-27 resources far more than the number of lands we would typically see in MTG. Like other's above I expect in time we will get "gold cards" ie cards require threshold of different shards. I also hope / expect to see some resource denial strategies.

Huh? The threshold mechanic means you can use fewer resources, not more.
