I just watched the first two new episodes of Superman And Lois on the CW. I think it is suffering from Dragging The Suspense Out Till You Scream Syndrome. I now know the best steak to order at the diner, where Lex Luther wants to build a new building, and other exciting details about nothing.
Superman is dead. His holographic mother could have revived him except Lex literally stomped on his heart. Superman’s family is sad. I think their version of Doomsday is pretty impressive, but other than that, I would have been as well off reading the synopsis I just gave.
Am I wrong? I actually hope I missed something. Plus I forgot from last season how Lex is controlling Doomsday. I assume Lex freed Doomsday and then they went for a beer.
The Korean version of Heroes. VERY good. Highly recommended.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo sounds interesting. I will add it to the list.
Just so there’s no confusion about where to watch the Korean TV shows we mentioned, all the ones I talked about are Netflix. Fortunately I also have Hulu, so have started watching Moving there.
Did I mention that my workplace has coffee machines that make hot chocolate? As a coffee non-drinker, I love it. But I am working from home today, and have no such luxery.

I’m up to episode seven of “Moving” and have to say that the fight scenes, factoring in their various superpowers, are exactly what you would hope to see. I hesitate to say “realistic” but they are. Can hardly wait to see where it goes with the younger generation of “heroes”.

I think I had very similar feelings around that point, and then the fire nation attacked, and everything changed.
Well, the Tigers run is over after yesterday's faceplant against Cleveland. Can't leave a dozen or so guys on base AND have a Cy Young pitcher have his worst day of the season on the same day. But hey, nobody expected them to be playing in mid-October on a playoff payroll of $26 million.
Went back to work. Slightly better. Missed the students, but overall it still sucks. That week and a half leave did remind me of life without work though, and that it can be pretty cool. Read a few comics, changed out a dying water heater, got some yard work done, browsed some job listings, spent some time with the dogs and kids. Made some decent meals, took care of a VA appointment or two.
I’ve started watching “Top Gun:Maverick” finally, for the first time. Having heard that it’s one of the greatest recent movies, I didn’t know what to expect. I used to fly private a bit, and a hobby has been building model military aircraft, so thought I knew everything about fast planes. At the beginning of the movie when Maverick exceeds Mach 10 in an experimental plane, I thought the movie was ruined by something ridiculous. I decided to let that go and now, one hour in, am sort of hooked. I hope it stays that good.
So being a stubborn, know-it-all, I researched and found that while Mach 10 is not currently reasonable in a manned aircraft, it’s not as ridiculous as I thought. As near as I can tell, the fastest manned flight was Mach 6.7 (4,520 mph) in an X-15. I knew that one but didn’t know that an unmanned air-breathing X-43A went Mach 9.68 (6,755 mph) in 2004. Makes me feel a small bit better about the movie, even with the small bit of artistic license.
The weekend was fun. I went to Phoenix for a Star Wars themed 1 year old's birthday party. Thanks to the 7 Leigh Dip, frequent stops meant I didn't get home until 2am, and I didn't get to bed until 4am.
