Well I am planning a holiday in America this summer so though I would arrange it so I can take in one of these conventions. I know I will be upset if I spend a day standing in line for nothing having flown over from England. However I would not stop playing the game over it! I have to buy most of the LE's I want off ebay anyway.

But they would have to already have known they were going to miss their numbers by so much from the beginning to have a raincheck program in place.
And after the fact this wouldn't make sense. Send in your pass and you'll be guaranteed to get one at San Diego?
I look at it this way - by the time San Diego rolls around one of two things will happen:
WK will continue to horde the figs - driving demand much higher then supply. (Actually, they probably had closer to enough Galactus's for all the people who wanted to use him in the game - it was the eBay buzzards and those who just wanted to sell him who really bought them up). And more of these eBay buzzards will be circling the WK's counter at each Con.
Or as Galactus makes the rounds, more and more people will get him and his value will stabilize.
While we SoCal folks got burned by being the first place for Galactus to be "widely" available, San Diego is towards the end (and one of, if not the biggest). So that could improve the chances for those of us willing to try again.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Wow... this really doesn't do anything to allay concerns about future cons, does it?
"We'll try to do better..." They brought 300 something Galactuses to WWLA... does that mean they'll bring 400 to Origins?
There really isn't a lot in this email to give people an incentive to make travel plans and a huge outlay of cash to go to a convention and try and get a Galactus.
Its shocking, as I have multiple sets of Antman-YJ and Atom/Plastic Man - clearly they weren't nearly as "limited".
Someone over at Ebay is loving you right now, Wizkids.
thanks for the apology. to those who were waiting for it, it means alot. the rest of them...well, nothing but a blood sacrifice would work (and no...as much as i enjoy my own backyard blood sacrifices, i don't think anybody really expected one from you or WK's).
I want to know how many will be at the future conventions and how many were at WWLA. I don't expect them to send a free Galactus to everyone that attended (that would be stupid) I want them to make the difference of what should have been at WWLA available for purchase to people that send in their badges along with payment. Even if I didn't get one by doing this because they sell through the quantity before they get to me the gesture would go a long way towards getting me and I'm sure probably several other atendees back on their good side.
OK, who's seen the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." Dorcus Bean should hire Kevin Smith & Jason Mews (he could use the work) to go over to all you little whiners homes and beat you up.
Well, I am glad there has been at least multiple reply's from Wizkids about this. I did not attend WWLA and feel horroable about the people that where not able to get Galactus. When I first heard about Galactus I thought that he would be easily ubtained like the other le's but i'll live with the fact that he is not. This just gives me more time to slowly put money away for one on ebay just encase I go to WW-Chicago and I cannot get one. In all this hoopla my biggest problem is the people that are able to get their hands on a bunch of them and sell them on ebay. I would love to see or hear wizkids spend the time to see who is trying to see multiple galactus's on ebay and do whatever they can to stop those people from taking home more then 1 if not 2. $300+ is way to much considering you do not get the LE Surfer or Invisable Woman either.
Uh, when did I threaten to quit? I just think this is a carppy resolution to a horrendous situation.
Your example still leaves the question .... would it have not been better to satisfy 2 out of every 3 customer vs. 1 out of 84?
What event had 3 million people .... sounds like an attendance record to me.
What structure can hold that? You never know I may want to start my own country.
- Terrence
Ok, if you didn't get my SARCASM Terrence, like you did on me a few weeks ago, I'd suggest looking at my math as being un-attainable and making the example as being ridiculous. Here's even a better way of putting it. If 5000 people show up to buy Galactus, 5001-5100 will be on this board the very night of the con, complaining once again that WK did it to "screw" them. Hell, even if its only 5 people who don't get their way, it will be 5 HCRealmers who will be decrying WK once again.
That's my point. No matter what WK will do to "fix" this going forward, there is always going to be folks pissed about it, and felt that the company didn't do enough. My whole point is there is nothing really to do to "fix" this, as if its a limited collectable, what are they supposed to do? Make them on demand until everyone has one? Not really a limited collectable anymore if everyone has one that wants one, is it?
Mentioning Galactus now to Heroclix players is going to be like mentioning thugit, a hot button to get folks all worked up.
As far as the dropship is concerned, shows you the flaws WK's press statements. They say Mechwarrior is a far more popular game than Heroclix. If you could still get a drop ship at the end of a show when they sold out on all the heroclix products, you'd think that they would hold back drop ships to create a demand on their "hot" game.
It was a start, but it's still pretty lame - demand was high - no kidding! Nothing stating "we grossly miscalculated demand." They're still not really admitting that they did anything wrong.
I helped free the people of Iraq from a tyrant - what have you done lately?
Anyone who collects understands what " Limitied " means,
the problem I have with what occurred in Long Beach was how others and I were treated, by the Wizkids personal, and more importantly I feel the statements made to others and myself at the convention site were misleading and bording on outright lies.
I was in line each and everyday and each time was turned away....fair enough, I didn't get there in time nor in all honesty was I going to sleep out on the sidewalk all night long to try and be first in line, but when I am told and assured repeatedly, by the staff come back there will be more for sale and no one, I mean no one is telling me how "limited" theses items are I find it very disturbing. This is the major complaint of anyone who is honest about the situation.
Am I upset about not getting a Galactis...sure, nor will I bore you with the story of the amount of time and money spent to attend the convention, because that is life and what we are really talking about is a TOY and there are truly much more important things going on in the world.
But really concerns me, regarding this situation, is the causual indifference displayed by the personel towards us the consumer, and I am not talking about the volunteers, and the continued lack of acceptence of responsibility that Wizkids is displaying in this matter, then and now, for the way the situation was handled and is continued to be handled...
Frankly, If I ran my business the the way Wizkids has handle this situation I would be open very long....and the longer this situation continues, without being honestly and openly addressed it will continue to fester and the problem will grow....
I will not suggest or tell Wizkids how to handle this situation if someone up top doesn't have the commonsence to diffuse the problem then it will collaspe under its own weight.
