So I have spent today getting hernia surgery. My scrotum is going to the size of a large grapefruit.

I forgot how wonderfully warm and content a good dosage of Hydrocodone can make you feel. My nuts hurt, and my scrotum looks like a purple/black rotted fruit, but I have a stack of comics and an empty slate for the next couple days. Last night was a long series of 2-3 hour iterations of sleep, followed by icepack replacement, drugs (alternating ibuprofen and Norco for the first 3 days), trying to pee, and going back to bed very gingerly.

Just waiting for one of the kids or pets to barrel into me right at the midsection though.

At least you didn't get another paper cut!

Yeah, that would have just sucked. But still... stack of comics... day's not over yet!

2 follow up items of note from my surgery:

It lasted longer than expected. I was knocked out of course, but the surgeon told my wife that it was possibly the most difficult hernia in his 20+ years as a surgeon. My old hernia mesh was all messed up and had significant muscle and tissue growth that he had to remove from it before he could replace it. I've had pain in that area for years, and knowing that it might be fixed finally is pretty awesome. We'll see how it pans out. This one does not have the pain that my first couple hernia surgeries had as of a day later anyway.

The other item of note is kind of weird. My assigned nurse in post-surgery recovery was overly "friendly". I am not the socializer/flirter I was 10 years ago, and I didn't realize it at first, as some people are just more touchy-feely than others. She wasn't bad looking at all, and was maybe in her late 30s, but I was surprised, plus on 2 Norcos I was a bit slow on the uptake. Lots of massaging my chest, my shoulders, leaning in close to talk to me, and a little bit more brushing up against me than the situation required. Since my surgery was for a hernia, she knew nothing would be happening, and when my wife was around, she was very professional. My perception was a bit muddled, but I think she was getting herself kinda worked up once when she was asking if I liked her massaging my chest.
It kinda makes me wonder if she takes extra interest in other middle aged drugged-up guys in recovery. On the flip side, she was decently hot and interesting, so I wonder if I was flirting and just don't recall.
